What gear rule? Hard to comment/speculate without some info or link to info. Mike
Hadn't heard anything?
Nascar is doing away with the gear rule at raod courses, Hammond said last on racehub that you can run what ever gear you want at road courses...
If it ends up being the case, then yes it could be very good for Robby. I also assume it will be good for others too.
As the engines are standardized and the same for each race, IMO, the no gear rule will allow the tuners to better match the individual manufacturer engine's HP and Torque curves. If I remember correctly you want to be at the torque peak as you get back on the gas coming out of a curve. The no gear rule will make this match much easier.
Yeah..what he said...lol :)
Tog , with Robby Maybe Not Running The Whole Season . Will He Still Race Both Road Courses ?
in a hummer
i think it's safe to say RG will be at both roadies. But dont expect him at road america becaue it's the same weekend as infineon,
are you crazy the road course is his bread and butter why wouldnt he race em???
I think it will be good. Look at Robby's success prior to 2005 when the gear rule was put into place.
I've heard Robby say in the past that he likes a bigger gap between some gears. He said it allows him to approach each course with more flexibility so he can get more power & speed when and where he wants it, and help avoid wheel-hop under braking. Makes sense. With his road course talent I'd think it'd give him an edge over others.
