STAGE 6: Antofagasta > Iquique

Connection 180 km | Special Stage 418 km | Connection 0 km | Total 598 km

Course Overview

The efforts are equally spread out on the day's special. On the off-piste portion of the first third, the dust will push the competitors to be cautious. The larger and faster tracks that will be at the heart of the program will force those who are fighting for positions to maintain a fast pace. They will however need to keep a good amount of energy: indeed an African type erg awaits at the heart of a sandy portion of around fifty kilometres. But for the final part, the reward will be at the height of the difficulties. After having climbed a last dune, the competitors will take on a slide type sand downhill of close to three kilometres with Iquique and the waves of the ocean on the horizon. An unforgettable scene.

BJ fell back i wonder what happened. By looking at the course it might have been that windy section this next section will be fast and very fast im sure the hummer will make up the time.
RG is still ahead of him on course the are the same time back
Robby won't be afraid to nudge him out of the way, if need be. Hopefully race officials won't take offense.
He'd neede a long bumper, Alan. All is 4 minutes ahead on course.
They dont I remember seeing a video of last years where Robby Pushed someone. Thats how you do things in off road racing like in score and best in the desert. you give them a little bump and one more a little harder and if they dont move out of the way you make them get out of your way thats what i love about off road racing.
That was from a couple years ago. Robby was penalized for that (or warned, can't remember) because it's not legal in Dakar. They have passing indicators in-car.
Neves must have had trouble so RG is by him now. NEXT!
Sad. From Twitter:

dakarrallynews Crash Manca Luca from Italy has been fatal
Thats sad news.
yup.
At 11:14EST Dakar showed Robby in 7th at KM195. No sign of BJ who was leading earlier at CP1.
