The Chilean Carlo de Gavardo lived a black day in the third stage of Dakar. The huelquenino was officially disqualified from the race after he failed to pass through checkpoints, a fundamental requirement for timed testing.

What a shame. It was a great pleasure to meet all the Carlo de Gavardo fans from Chile, and we thank you for the support you showed the website. Hopefully, the appeal will be a success, but it is what it is. Todays stage was a tough day for many teams.

Well he is not competative at all now. So limping to the end seems like a better choice to me. Could have changed the clutch before the end of the stage....

i found a little hope here. Carlo is talking with ASO for hours about the issue, that is what the press says, and is not "official" yet
i hope he can continue on track besides the standings, but it could be unfair for others drivers too that were sanctioned.

TOG not sure of you know, Did the T-4 truck get dequed also as it was pulling carlos and missed all the way points. Can it still run the official route to be of assistance to Robby for the rest of the rally

like Bill said, they would probably check to see before doing so. No point in getting 2 of them dqed. it is hard for me to get through to the team . After tomorrow, the communication lines will improve. I am still receiving texts that were sent from Argentina yesterday .

Unfortunately not. When you are out of the race, you are not allowed to continue the rally on the official route.
