STAGE 3: La Rioja > Fiambala

Connection 259km | Special Stage 182km | Connection 0km | Total 441km

Course Overview

It'll be on the third real day of racing that the competitors will have to deal with a first test. The change of context will be radical: with a switch from earth to sand and especially a dune portion of close to 30 kilometres. Other than their dimension that suits perfectly a first part of rally, these dunes are noticeable thanks to their white colour. In this new landscape, the crews will enjoy off-piste. They will also have to adapt to a change of climate and especially sand storms that are frequent in the area.

Today's stage was still a bit of the same as the last 2 days, Robby wasn't all that jazzed about these, looking forward to the Chile stages.

The frustrating part is the not knowing what is really happening.
RG through 117
Robby thru km 117 11th
Finally, but you have to wonder why he lost so much time in the sand.

RG (302) cleared KM 117 +51:41
Something is not right....at KM38, how is BJ in 19th so soon after starting in the back?
How is he ahead of Rob too?
That doesn't make any sense....something is up with tracking only getting update on the to 10 or so...
Didn't start as far back as he should have for some reason, I think they said here earlier he started like 24th?

Miller (305) has completed the course +10:14
Maybe the altitude came into play today?
Is there any type of tracking like they have for score where you can see where they're at on the course and if they're dead in the water? Or, is all we have the Dakar check-point arrival times?
dakar.com hasn't worked for me at all until I just hit refresh for the umpteenth time

http://tracking.dakar.com/ASO/index_us.html

getting site errors all over the place, couldn't even expand on the type of course they are running today. :(
