Per Jayski:

UPDATE: Beam Global Spirits & Wine, Inc., maker of Jim Beam Bourbon, the world's number one-selling Bourbon, announced that its marketing plans for 2010 will not include a return to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. As a result, the company will not extend its current partnership with Robby Gordon Motorsports in 2010. The company plans to focus its marketing resources for Jim Beam into other platforms that directly impact the end consumer. "It was a difficult decision to transition away from being a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team sponsor," said Bill Newlands, president Beam Global Spirits & Wine U.S. "We always take a hard look at our marketing resources and how we can best interact with legal purchase age consumers. After an extensive review of our marketing strategy, we have come up with new alternatives to fuel growth for Jim Beam in 2010." Jim Beam will continue its support of #7-Robby Gordon Motorsports for the remainder of the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup series schedule."Jim Beam has been a great partner for the past five years," said Robby Gordon. "I would like to thank them for their support through the years. They have been with me since we started the team in 2005, helping build our Cup team and aiding in its success. Great relationships have been formed, and I expect those to continue well into the future

Hopefully Robby can land the greygoose sponsorship. It'd mix much better with Monster.

The grey goose & monster is the ticket !
What a difference two short years makes... That's when I published this article on the value of NASCAR sponsorship. I reread it yesterday and had to chuckle..

Not sure what the change to TRIAD meant re: the relationship with TOYOTA.
I always thought the TRIAD deal was just for motors, and that is all they are really interested in supplying for nascar teams. You'd think Toyota would be interested in having all their cars run well, and would give help regardless of where the motor comes from, or who builds their own chassis.
In whatever form sponsorship comes from Robby better glue the friggen gas down here as the season comes to a close ESP. in the full black jackets cars. folks have very short memories and the courting who the hell ever it will be better be going on right now!
I can see him going back to Dodge...............their lookin for teams now that Petty is jumping ship. And RGM would be second in the pecking order of info and help
Dodge won't last in Cup. Stick with Toyota, get some sponsors and build on this year's notes.
Why is it that RGM cannot hold down manufacturer support?
Maybe too because he plays by his own rules. Big business likes to be brown nosed. Perhaps bigger operations can devote personnel to nothing but playing their game, but those who are more focused on the job at hand don't have time for that.
Rob left TRD for TRIAD, don't get it twisted.
Theres no panic, JB was gone long before most of us here knew about it.
This was just the official courtesy.
The sky is NOT falling.
Remain calm

Oh ya,& fuck Dodge! What good would going back to that formula (or Ford) do???????
& wtf has that got to do with JB leaving motorspots anyway?
yup.....and the answer to both ?'s is.................."nothing"
I think it has to do with the pecking order. When he was with Chevy at the bottom of the list. With Ford he was just too pissed about the fuel milage and felt cheated by Rousch and thinking that he was being short changed. Dodge didn't perform very well and that led to the Toyota change, but between Gibbs, Mikey's team and Team Red Bull (8 full time, sponsored cars), Robby is headed down the pecking order yet again as a one car team. At least with Dodge he would get sponsors when Dinger didn't qualify. Got to admit that Valvoline car looked good.

IF he went back to Dodge, he would be back with Penske and, oh yeah, that Penske guy has a pretty good reputation at Indy.
