Per Jayski:

UPDATE: Beam Global Spirits & Wine, Inc., maker of Jim Beam Bourbon, the world's number one-selling Bourbon, announced that its marketing plans for 2010 will not include a return to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. As a result, the company will not extend its current partnership with Robby Gordon Motorsports in 2010. The company plans to focus its marketing resources for Jim Beam into other platforms that directly impact the end consumer. "It was a difficult decision to transition away from being a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team sponsor," said Bill Newlands, president Beam Global Spirits & Wine U.S. "We always take a hard look at our marketing resources and how we can best interact with legal purchase age consumers. After an extensive review of our marketing strategy, we have come up with new alternatives to fuel growth for Jim Beam in 2010." Jim Beam will continue its support of #7-Robby Gordon Motorsports for the remainder of the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup series schedule."Jim Beam has been a great partner for the past five years," said Robby Gordon. "I would like to thank them for their support through the years. They have been with me since we started the team in 2005, helping build our Cup team and aiding in its success. Great relationships have been formed, and I expect those to continue well into the future

Hopefully Robby can land the greygoose sponsorship. It'd mix much better with Monster.

Sponsorship is pure profit.... Anybody remember Jeffys divorce??....It said he was making 20Miliion a year...RGM will be fulltime & fine.....
personal services contracts are seperate from a company's team sponsorship.
Good thing. I was about to drink myself to death! how about something n/a for a few years so i can dry out. perhaps, fresca or milk.?
JB was a great sponsor, from the early days in 2005 where we prayed for RG to make the race, to RG making the show at Daytona in 2006 (thank you Bill Elliott), to that first attempt in Dakar, to helmet tossing at Loudon in 05, to his P2 finish at the Glen (first loser), to Rally for Robby last year. Fair thy well, JB....thanks for the ride....drinking smartly, of course.
Yes, They have been great. Stuck by him in what have been difficult seasons. Won't forget the time Kevin Lepage bumped into Robby in the ' 05 dual race at Daytona and prevented Jim Beam from making there first race as a debut sponsor.
Still cant get over that one, finished 7th and still didn't make the show. Lepage went on to get 9th in the 500!
It's a damn shame Robby's losing Jim Beam. It's rare to see a more supportive sponsor. We should all thank Jim Beam for sticking with Robby through thick and thin. I just wish Robby could have brought them a victory.

Now, what am I going to do with all my Jim Beam stuff? Is it collectable yet?

Hopefully he'll get a cool sponsor. I don't want to be stuck wearing Little Debbie hats.
Could be worse... like a Hamburger Helper hand!
DONT YOU DARE JINKS US ALL
Stick with the RGM or RGOR hats- timeless.
sponsors come and go and the marketing folks have to propose something different now and again. Sme thing same news almost every team has faced. Doubtful it has much to do with RG and his track record as they are exiting the sport. To me there are only a handful of sponsors in racing that can say without a doubt its an important strategy and it pays dividends. Tracking where to spend your dollars and how much effect those dollars have must be a black art at best.
Is it possible he can win in the next 9 races? I bought a Robby-Jim Beam bottle of Bourbon several years ago waiting to drink it after a win. The bottle has several layers of dust on it now, but would be real happy to clean it up and celebrate a win by downing the whole bottle. If he goes without winning (in all likelihood), what should I do with the bottle?
If it were me, I'd still be downing the whole thing. But that's just me...
