I Have A Question About Robby's 2009 Polaris Trophy Truck For Crandon During His Testing

Why does Robby have all of his body panels on his Trophy Truck shown in a couple of the pictures here and in the others some or all of the are off?

Is this some sort of way to determine something in order to make the TT handle better?
Or did Robby just get a little more air time than usual and those panels had to come off for repairs and he went back out and continued to test with them off?

Thank you again Nick Head for taking the time to explain everything.

I have to ask you this...
Do you race these trucks yourself too?
Do you work for Robby building his trucks?
OR
Is your garage stacked from the floor to ceiling with countless subscriptions of everything that can be raced , from soapbox derby cars and go karts to everything that is and can be driven Off Road?

I don't mean to pry , I'm just curious and amazed at how much you know. Part names and where they go etc...

Do you recall a tv show on "SPIKE TV" that was or maybe still is called "Trucks!"? I tried to get edjamacated by watching that every Sunday. I think the last episode I watched was when they put "TANK Tracks" on a pick up truck and then took it out for a drive.

Anywho!
Thanks Again for your expertise!

OFF ROAD RACING FOR DUMMIES

Hi Nick,My use of the word cantilever only pertained to single shock placement on the trailing arm. Thanks for more details. Mike
No problem guys... As for me, first I love the offroad racing industry... been going to the dezert my whole life, then started my career in it in 2001. So the answer to your questions HT.. Do I race??, NO, Co pilot?? yes, but I will be racing my own deal in the near future.. Do I work for RG??.. NO.. But I have for both the offroad & nascar program (2003-2005).. now I just sell them alot of offroad parts.. I work full time @ KarTek Offroad (kartek.com) and basically its my job to know about all these buggies, trucks, etc.. I currently am the outside rep and almost every weekend I am in the dezert supporting a race series & the racers.. or I also goto some races and work for some top teams.. I really enjoy what I do, so I offer help to alot of racers & people were ever I can.. like next weekend.. GOING TO PRIMM!!.. you gonna be there..??
Hey Nick!

like next weekend.. GOING TO PRIMM!!.. you gonna be there..??
No I can not go to PRIMM or any other event. This 40 yr. old , married with 2 teenagers is all out of vacation time etc...

You replied ,

I hope your future plans , goals and dreams work out for ya!

One of the most important things in life to always remember and never forget is...If you are getting paid/making a living doing something that you love doing , IT'S NOT A JOB! If it's the last thing that you think of as you fall asleep and it's the very first thing you think of when you wake... "Aside from having to pee or a morning quickie if your in bed with a hot one" IT'S NOT A JOB! IT'S A DREAM THAT CAME TRUE!

It would be pretty damn cool to someday watch an OFF ROAD event and say...HEY! HE DID IT! HE MADE IT! I HAD CONVERSATIONS WITH HIM ON PLANET ROBBY! You know , one of those fun moments in life.

Have You Seen This Little Off Road Toy?

Hey Nick , Here's another one for you.

Why do the (TT?Pro-2) vehicals not have windshields but the Dakar rally ones do?

On a different note , Robby's black eye. If he had been wearing a full face helmet like he does in Nascar , would he have still gotten the black eye? Also...Is there any video coverage of what took place?
Hummer, I'll try, Dakar vehicles have to be street legal (RG OR Hummers are licenced in Arizona ) because Dakar competitors travel public roads during liasons. The Pro2 and Trophy Truck no windshield for get caked with mud or dust. Mike
