NEVER BEEN TO BRISTOL AND WAS WONDERING WHERE THE BEST PLACE TO PARK AND TAILGATE AT THE SPEEDWAY IS.
I SAW ON THE WEBSITE THAT MOST OF THE PARKING IS PERMIT ONLY.DO NOT WANT TO WALK TO FAR AFTER TAILGATING ALL DAY.
ANY INPUT WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED.

There is a huge field across from the track call Earhardt field or something like that. A lot of people camp there and it's not too far of a walk from the track. There is a field directly across from that field that you can park at but it can take forever to get out of there after the race. My suggestion is suck it up and park somewhere where it is easy to get out and beat the traffic. Many Many homes in the area have parking for 10-20 dollars a day.
THANKS I ALL READY WAS EYING THE EARHARDT FIELD
yeah make sure you get there by 8am to park really close to the track. the only way to get out of there quick is to, get out of your seats with 10 laps to go and watch the end thru the tunnels. The rush like hell to get to your car other wise you will be stuck for about 3 hours. we go ever year. usually on the high way with in a 1/2 hour
I always get to the track early and park in the Earhardt lot next to the track. After the race, the police block off vehicle traffic for one hour to insure all the people get out to their vehicles safely. We just designate one person to move the car into the line to get out, and then socialize while we wait. If you want to get out earlier, park in Earhardt across the street as far to the back as possible. You will be able to exit faster on the back side and come out to I-81 at exit 69 in TN. There is also a satellite lot near the backside of the track. Bristol has buses to take you back and forth. It works well going to the track, but you will wait to get back to your car as there will be a lot of people trying to get on the bus. I do NOT recommend you walk. If you don't mind a bit of a hike, paying to park in someone's yard on Rt. 11 is a good idea for early departure.
Above all, have a great time!! Bristol is one of a kind!
a hint is to drive past the parking attendents and park near a enterance. If not the parking lots are held an hour after the race and you will wait forever to get out.
when i went to talladega we just hung out in the parking lot after the race for like 2 hours so i think we will do the same this time just have to have drinks and food left over from the tail gate party (tailgate in reverse)
I've never been to Bristol either, but you might want to check with Dave Blaney. I bet he's already got a good "parking spot" picked out!

Yes, I bet he does....he must get real tired after 2-3 grueling laps of "kinda racing"!
I guess the next question is , what "failure" does he tell NASCAR!
Helton: Dave, what put you out?
Blaney: Trying to beat the traffic... check, please!

Thanks for the tips everyone, maken my first trip to Bristol as well, first ever race I've been to thats NOT at MIS. Looking forward to the double file restarts, should get crazy... Go Robby!
Well, if you followed Blaney out, you made record time getting out of the joint, even though he started near the front! I guess it doesn't matter where the SAP drivers start, because they didn't have any tires in the pits anyways!
