I'm sure the "what if's" and "why?" has all been played over and over. The startegy was working. Robby was sticking to the plan and leading the race, racing luck fell and took Robby's chances away? But the reaction cost him. Robby made a setup call that seemed to be way too extreme and it cost him a ton of points. I'm sure it was a desperation call out of frustration, but it knocked alot more than than yellow flag did. Robby restarted near the rear but soon was sitting in 17th with more double file restarts to come. He easily had the equipment for a Top 10 or even Top 5 finish. But the ill-handling car wouldn't perform and Robby couldn't pick up spots. He was slowed by a spinning Biffle that put him in the 25th position and then collected in a wreck that finished him up in 36th. It's sad because even without the win, Robby easily had 75 to 100 points sitting in his lap. Those positions would have moved him up 2 spots in the Owner's Points and closed the gap on the Top 20. That's the down side to being an owner/driver, he needed someone to say "Negative! That car is good, we'll tighten you up a little with air pressure. Go out there and see if you can put yourself within striking distance. We're gonna get some cautions. Get after it!"

Well, it's over and New Hampshire is next...Jim Beam won't return until Chicago, so this weekend and Daytona will be TBA. Crazy thing is these two tracks actually are better tracks for Robby and give the team a chance, Robby won at New Hampshire with RCR and the plate track program has been solid.

I know it takes money & time, but if RGM would put the effort into building a couple of cars like they did their road course car they would be contenders. Build 2 plate cars, 2 road course cars and 2 intermediate cars like they did this past weekend and he'd look more like Stewart-Haas.

Robby must not think of what could have been and think about what his team has done. They had a car built better than anyone and it was bad fast. He has the team, we all know he can drive. Having the Baja 500 win taken away, and leading at Sonoma when the caution flag dropped has to be one of the hardest weeks Robby has ever endured. This will be a long, hard week for Robby Gordon, but he has to move forward.

Now is the time for Robby fans to show support. It's easy to be behind him when he wins, but it's when he's down is when the real fans stand tall.

you know very little about nascar. he lost the race even if the caution had not come out. he was the last one to pit. yea he should have been leading! on a road course you pit as early as you can and maybe gamble a lap or two. and if you are getting 3.6mpg..... then you do not have a good car for sonoma and should have raced a little less to get better fuel mileage. so he was the last one to pit weather the caution came out or not.
oh well... I could barely watch the race after they showed Robby so frustrated in the car. Then the crash just added icing to a bad cake. But I'm over it :-)) and I hope the 7 team is too and ready to kick butt this weekend!
a double Jim Beam for Zach please.
I dont think Robby Races for points he races hard when there is noise under the hood. Like it or not that appears to be the case. I guess as a rabid fan I need to stop worrying about points as well. Its always disapointing especially at a track like Sonoma but it wont change who I watch and root for one bit.
Robby's going to smoke their @ss this week!
so if his sponsors are tba for the next 2 weeks who will be his sponsors. I hope monster energy sponsors robby for daytona. that will be pretty cool.
Burton doesnt seem too pissed. I like the guy and hate to see Rob and him get into it.
Biffle just gets pissed, It was the Biffs fault.

I just hope these two dont gun him down.

below is from burtons site

"He maintained 16th after taking the green-flag restart but as he was coming to take the white flag, the No. 20 machine dove underneath the RCR entry and clipped the right-rear quarter panel enough to send Burton off course. Although he was able to get his car turned around and back on track, several positions were lost in the meantime and Jeff ultimately finished the race 34th in the final rundown.
JEFF QUOTE:
“We had a disappointing ending to what would have been a possible top-15 finish. When you have a green-white-checkered finish combined with double-file restarts, things are bound to happen. It’s just typical road-course racing. We’ll swallow this pill and rebound when we go to Loudon next week.”
aka move on ! Most drivers move on. Ask Jmac
Well spoken!
check out pics below know wonder they had bad mileage look at all the gas on the gound come on guys get a clue
uh, the excess fuel on the ground was from the fuel cell being PACKED FULL
For what it is worth..this snippet from the SI.com power rankings on Mark Martin..

Then, to add insult to injury, the 50-year-old was involved in a wreck of his own making when he got tangled up with both Jeff Burton and Robby Gordon. Perhaps no one is looking forward to returning to the oval tracks more this Sunday...

I kno wwere moving on, but it seems we were neither the impetus for the Biffle or late race tangle up.
