Sorry folks, I was missing in action this weekend due to a wedding. I am trying to figure out how the race went for RGM. I saw the car was fast in practice, did it just not have the speed Sunday? Was this because of the weather change? Or was the car fast and pit stops shuffled them back?

I noticed on one of the pictures here that a crew member was under the car on pit road during the race. Did they have to fix something?

Again, sorry for the questions, I am just trying to catch up.

Also, I suppose this mosty goes out to TOG, any word on Sonoma sponsorship? Exciting stuff, and just for everyones info I have heard about Robbys new cars for the road courses from team members on other teams. There are more people interested in seeing how fast those cars are other than just RGM and Robby Gordon fans...

Yea he run great...think it would have been top 10 if could have got to the front.
Like a Highbeam on crack!
Sponsored by Santa Claus....
Beam. Monster. Same car. Game over.

;)
I would imagine the rest of the garage would like to see what he did because the last car he built won both roadraces in 2003 and was very competitive for years after.

Did Robby build cars when he was with Childress? That's awesome, I had no idea
He brought over a car that he owned that was already built. It might have been the same car Simo helped design back in 2000 for Team Gordon, but I was never able to confirm this.

RCR then started using them as blueprints for how to build future cars for road course events. When Robby left, I know for a fact he brought at least one car back with him...
Hope Robby keeps the stars aligned with good mind waves, the car will be great the race will be great. Stay away from things like all four wheels loose, using a new kind of shifter, pushing fuel to the limit, racing a lapped car. Things like that have potentialy taken four wins off the stat sheet.
The good qualifying and pit stops with no problems kept RG in track position that kept him on the lead lap. Cars were already being lapped around lap 30 so track position was key. Twice he was about to be lapped and a timely caution flag saved him.

All in all, he probably got the finish he deserved. There were no speeding penalties and he pitted within the designated area.
lol....."say it again!.....only 4 dollars...."
I hope not... I will be definately conflicted.....
Hmm there must be a reason that it says "Infineon Sponsors" as opposed to "Infineon Sponsor"...

Judging by the entry list, this should be a good weekend--lots of ringers in the cars. Carpentier, Said, Fellows, Simo, Papis, Speed should do well, plus the usuals Robby, Tony, Juan, et al.
