Robby has done alot better than his results or standings indicate...just look at teh season so far:

Daytona- In position to get his lap back and finally had the car dialed in but gets knocked out when Junior & Vickers get together (Just Bad Racing Luck)

Fontana- Untimley caution puts the team 2 lasp down, never able to make up ground and car was Top 15 on the speed chart. (Just Bad Racing Luck)

Las Vegas - Finished 15th

Atlanta- Tire issue, finished 26th

Bristol- Finished 21st

Martinsville- Had a fantastic car, but engine let go. (Just Bad Racing Luck)

Texas- Another engine issue (Just Bad Racing Luck)

Pheonix - Gets wrecked by someone else (Just Bad Racing Luck)

Talladega - Avoided the Big One, making a late charge and gets hit by another car and taken out (Just Bad Racing Luck)

Richmond Finished 16th Solid day

Darlington - Caught up in another wreck (Just Bad Racing Luck)

Charlotte- Race strategy paid off finished 3rd

Dover - Robby has a fast car, but untimely caution catches Robby 2 laps down and gets wrecked by another car (Just Bad Racing Luck)

8 times Robby has had Bad Racing Luck wreck him, tire issue or engine problem. It's all part of racing but most of thsoe "bad luck" deals Robby was running well. The team has been solid with Kirk onboard. Biggest issue is slow pit stops. Robby is being forced to pass cars again on teh track he's already passed. Puts him in bad situations. Hopefully they can fix the pit stop issues. If you looked at last year, Robby typically showed up quick but would start to fade. This year Robby shows up slow, but seems to fast race day. Kirk must be making solid adjustments.

Listening to yesterday's race, what really hurt Robby was Robby. When Kirk called for 4 tires and fuel with no changes, Robby asked to take a little out to free him up. The car wasn't the same and then they went with 2 tires the next stop and that really bit them. Robby really needs to communicate what the cars doing and let Kirk make the call. Robby can drive better than most of the guys out there, but he tends to over adjust with his suggestions. Robby has great strategy with when to pit and when to stay out, but adjustments calls he rarely gets right. Listen to Tony on the scanner, he will tell Grubb what teh cars doing, then Grubb says let's do this, Tony then says okay. Robby should sit, playback and listen to Tony's scanner conversations. Robby & Tony are alot alike, and in my opinion two of the best. The edge Tony has is he lets his crew chief do his job.

Okay, maybe I got confused, maybe it was the other race not Martinsville...sorry!

It was great to see Robby have a really good car at Dover & the Charlotte All Star race he had a rocket. The yellow flag caught Robby 2 laps down and it's almost impossible to make up with the Lucky Dodg rule once you're more than 1 lap down.
Well, he could pull a Stewart/Haas and run Hendrick equipment. We know Robby has the talent, but.....
Robby is getting more sponsors looking his way, I think you forget the star power he brings. He's one of the best in the world at racing off road, Indy cars, abd Nascar. He won with his own team in the Nationwide series and he'd doing more with less than most teams. Paulo Menard is right by Robby in points and that's Yates. He's out performed RCR almost weekly!
Stubborn,,,yes! Poor equipment...disagree. Under paid crew chief & crew...not buying it. I've even read how Robby really treats his crew well, takes them on fun outings, Baja & Dakar. More than just a paycheck. Sponsor Value? he has it Jim Beam is involved in all his racing teams, Monster is too. Robby is alot like Bobby Allison, very creative. The COTT for one. I wouldn't suprise me if the new car RGM's built for the road course isn't just bad fast! I think Kirk is a solid cc. If Robby could land a few more sponsors like Jim Beam, Menards & Monster he would be set for a long time,

with Lagono running better and better....You cant tell me Lagono is a better driver than Robby. No way.

To me, Robby tends to struggle with things that don't matter every race. He usually gets bad fuel mlieage, pit strategy is bad sometimes, qualifying is obviously bad, etc. All these things add up. Everyone has a bad day because of these things at some point or the other, but this stuff happens to Robby a lot. Qualifying bad doesn't always equal a bad finish, but qualifying bad all the time is going to catch up with you.
You mentioned bad pit strategy - I can't count the number of times in 08 and before the 7 has been caught up on pit road during a caution - I think Sunday was the first time I can recall this year he had been trapped on pit road - But that kind of bad luck is sometimes more frustrating than getting caught up in someone else's accident.
I see what you are saying, but sometimes I feel like the opposite happens. If Robby is about to go a lap down and green flag stops are coming up, I think he needs to pit instead of hoping for a caution. If not, he'll lose a lap and probably not make it up. Pitting early would help him gain some time on the leader. I feel like this kind of thing happens a lot.
my dad and i are always wondering on the restarts when robby is a lap down how come he always starts in the back of the line. Like at dover jeff gordon started up front and robby was at the back. Does he choose to start back there or what?
i think its just how nascar has them line up so fast
yeah at first i thought it was the way they come out of the pits but someone said different
