I saw the photo's from Dover that had Doug Richert in them. Is he helping Robby? A person with his credentials would be awesome for RG.

He helped RG and Kirk this weekend , as well as spotted for him . Doug did a great job in the air today.
It was funny listening to him. he was just having a blast up ther spotting for Robby.. He was getting giddy up there... "wow i can just see everything up here" he said....lol..
I agree, he did a great job, and it really was a blast listening to him on the radio, he was having so much fun and really enjoying himself.
in all seriousness, Robby doesn't care for a "cheerleader type" spotter.( aka fatboy in 2008 ) . that being said, Doug was doing more coaching than cheerleading, and he kept Robby abreast of every situation. The thing I was impressed with was, when RG had clean air and no pressure from behind, he told Kirk now would be a good time to advise laptimes to RG so he could 'search' for different lines and not worry about somebody on his ass.
I agree.. I was actually suprised that Robby didn't tell him to shut up!...lol.. he did talk alot of "cheerleading" type smack.... but like i said in the chat room, Having a smart person "previous crew cheif" up on the spotter stand... really gave alot of extra feedback.. Robby would say what his car was doing.. whether loose or tight on or off.. the Doug would repeat Robbys explanation thru what he saw the car doing visually
i thought the same thing
Man,I hope Doug keeps helping. I picked up a ton from him, today,I can
believe he was a super amount of help to everyione. Thank you,Doug.
I was at the race today and wondered if that was Richert. I thought he did a great job. I was impressed by how Robby listened to him. I'm really curious to know what Robby thought of him spotting. Too bad about the untimely caution and the crash but, at times the car was wicked fast. The two 'fixable' problems are qualifying (look what it did to the other TOG) and a bad pit stop.
Is he going to stay around, or was this a one and done deal?

He is a solid addition to help Robby and Kirk.
If RG can keep someone like Richert I think it would help the team grow. His resume shows a stellar background. Hope a deal can work out......Thanks for the all the responses to this post!
There's a reason Richert is where he is today.
i was also at the race all weekend and wasn't sure who doug was when they were saying his name on the scanner but after about 10 minutes you could tell who it was by his voice....i thought doug did a great job...personally this is the type of spotter robby needs even if he doesn't prefer it....doug was actually giving suggestions also about the changes that should be made on the car from atop the spotter stands.....it was also great listening to doug tell rob to manage his tires about every other lap.....even though it didn't seem to work til after rob lost the right rear and the untimely caution....the car was definitly not a 2 lap down race car....it would just not go on low air pressures and rob would comment how hard the tires would feel from one set to the next.....rob and kirk basically said what most of us fans feel everytime a good run is spoiled by bad luck or bad decisions....Kirk..."Well just be patient and maybe the next caution will fall our way this time"....Robby..."Im sick of waiting on the next time".....And rob rode the pit crew all day for horrible stops....
