D-Day Penalty Thread...

Isn't it after 10 am back east?... What time do they go to work at Nascar? Do they hand out penaltys after lunch? sheeesh....

300 is the time they come out some times 5 might not have one they sent him to the back

I think the penalty is just having your time disallowed, I dont ever recall there being a points penalty from a qualifying run

Could be even tomorrow with the Truck race running yesterday and all the Talladega issues being of concern.

Dega president announced they would raise the fence around the grandstands, and reinforce even more with steel cables.
Look for blocking to be a possible penalty, of course this would go to Nascar to decide what is blocking and what is trying to get a draft from someone behind you. The yellow line rule wasn't an issue with Dale Jr won at Dega, but has been a huge discussion when Regan Smith did it.

Well of course it was--I mean, the Principal Financial Group wasn't the "Official Financial Services Company of NASCAR" like Home Depot was the "Official Home Improvement Warehouse of NASCAR", or like how Budweiser was the "Official Beer of NASCAR" at the time Dale Jr. did it...

This is ridiculous, if NASCAR didn't have that stupid yellow line rule at only two tracks then we wouldn't be talking about any of this today

Twenty five points is alot right now.. too low what a joke if you want to grind the splitter so be it. I think nscar needs to reevaluate the roof flaps they need to be bigger .Btw ,the yellow line rule is bull. Last year before the race Joy or dw somebody said that on the last lap the line does not apply even Smith said something to that effect post race. So like Joco said its another way nascar can manipulate (rig) the race just like bs debri cautions.

Exactly. Every time it's something subjective that is up to NASCAR to review it's no secret where they'll go with it--what made a better SportsCenter story that night: one of the most well-known drivers, Tony Stewart, fends off a "cheating" rookie who nobody knows to win his first race of the season, or some rookie who nobody knows, who isn't marketable at all, and who is rideless next year (at the time) wins the first race of his career? Gee....
