Robby Gordon Talladega Preview

(Charlotte, NC) April 23, 2009 – Robby Gordon, driver of the No. 7 Jim Beam Toyota, will pilot Chassis 209 in this weekend’s Aaron’s 499. This race car has brought much success to Gordon and his team over the last year; it posted three top-10 and four top-15 finishes in the last five restrictor-plate races. They look to build upon this success and bring home another strong finish.

“Vote for Robby” – While the team is preparing for this weekend’s 188–lap race, Jim Beam is preparing to kick off their annual “Vote for Robby” campaign, which encourages fans to vote Gordon into the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race event on May 16 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Jim Beam representatives will roam the famous infield, rousing fans to “Vote for Robby” distributing custom-designed “Vote for Robby” T-shirts and stickers.

Talladega Totals – Gordon will make his 16th Cup appearance at the 2.66-mile high banked tri-oval, where he has recorded one top-five, five top-10, and seven top-15 finishes. Gordon also captured a front-row starting spot in 2002 and has two top-10 starts prior to the wave of the green.

Talladega Talk – “We have had some good luck at Talladega lately, finishing 8th and 11th at the two races last year. We are bringing back the same car, which helps boost my confidence going into this weekend’s race. Sitting 35th in points, we really need a good run to help turn things around for us. With our Toyota-powered engine, we feel confident that we will have a good run this weekend,” commented Gordon.

Appearances – Gordon will be at the Montana Grille located at 55023 Hwy 77, Lincoln, AL 35096 on Friday, April 24th. He will sign autographs for the public from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.

TV and Radio Times – Qualifying is set for Saturday, April 25th at 11 a.m. (ET) on Speed, MRN, and Sirius Satellite radio. The Aaron’s 499 will begin on Sunday, April 26th at 2 p.m. (ET) and will be broadcast live on FOX, MRN and Sirius Satellite radio.

He should run well, he was hauling ass in the first Daytona 150 until a tire problem.

Getting involved in wrecks and reliability may be his biggest issues to avoid

He should ride in the back until the time is right, he's done that before.
So where can we buy those t-shirts and stickers?? :)
We just need a real good points day. A top ten would be good I'd say!
