"For the type of asphalt we have here in Texas any type of fluid literally has to be power- washed. For any petroleum-based fluids we use Joy soap and the soap breaks down viscosity of the petroleum so it doesn't eat the asphalt. Late in the race I saw [Robby Gordon] blow an engine and I was like, 'get down to the apron, get down to the apron,' and of course he didn't. He went all the way around the track. That guy made it a really long night for us. Two crews and five hours of pressure-washing all the way around the mile-and-a-half tack and then we had to put oil-dry down to soak up what was left."

Oh well, sorry about their luck. Price you have to pay for being part of the show! Guy who paints the walls hates it when a driver scrubs against the logos during practice, because everything needs to get re-painted for raceday. My good friend Travis Bowers of Bowers Signs does all the wall paintings at Dover, and he sometimes has to work late into the night on Saturday from all the wrecks during the support races, but he loves being part of the weekend twice a year, and there are hundreds of people who would love to take his place. I can imagine there are many people who would love the job of pressure washing the racetrack after the race.Auto Races don't come with a script, unless Dale Jr is getting ready to get lapped!
Travis...hey I know that dude!
Whats next, the guy that cleans the bath rooms complaining about allowing beer sales because it makes people go to the bathroom more often?

This article is very amusing, assuming it is what the original poster described it to be.
got it from nascar .com
Yea, I know, its just that someone posted a "read the article" comment and I had not yet, hence my assumption clause. No disrespect to you, just covering my own lazy ass, lol.
Deal with it
Dale JR blew the motor in the #5 Nationwide car in practice at Vegas, He went all the way around the track and down pit lane, and Mike Bliss wrecked someone late in the Saturday race. . We scrubbed the track for hours Sunday morning before the cup race, it sucked! ..... But we did what needed to be done, AND nobody complained. This stuff happens, this Mat guy needs to suck it up, do his job, and shut the hell up.
shit happens its your job and you just have to suck it up and do it with no complaining
Kind of hard to get down to the apron when you have a car on the inside of you and your foot mashing the throttle, besides whats this Mat guy saying...if he leaves oil down on the apron there just gonna leave it. And if i'm not mistaking the 47 blew up and left a mess also!
Poor boy shoudn't HAVE to scrub the track after anyone! I've got an idea... Lets give that race date to Kentucky, or Iowa, or Montreal! Then that poor Texas boy wouldn't have to clean-up aftre ANY of theose mean, old NA$CAR drivers...
haha good idea
Uhhh.... that's why they call it 'work' fella...... if your whining ass worked for me I would fire you...
