Ok- Just talked to Robby, and he has informed me that he had ZERO issues with the tires during the 2nd practice. He said he did a 20 lap run,no problems, car sucked up very well, and he is very excited about the Duel 150. Main objective, keep the car in 1 piece and he is taking a play it by ear strategy as far as his racing goes,so don't assume he is going straight to the back.So in conclusion, the tire issue he had during the first practice was NOT an issue during the 2nd practice,

Good to hear. Especially after the only other person we heard of having issues with the tires was Jr. Good to hear they can run anywhere, hopefully we can get us a duel win, if get up front tomorrow.
Matt would probably have more knowledge on this subject than I so maybe he can confirm or set me straight, but based on what they showed during the second practice with RG looking at his tires I am pretty sure that those were wear marks that all the tires already have on them so teams can tell how the tires are wearing throughout the runs. Great news that there is no problem though. The car did look very good drafting today.
Hmm, I have yet to watch my tevo-ed practices, so I cannot be sure.

If they were little circles, offset slightly, on the outer middle and inner portion of the tread, then they were depth indicators to help indicate how the tire is wearing.

I plan on watching the practices tomorrow, Ill confirm for sure after that.
They show'd the wear indicators (unsure which tire position rt fr/rt rr).The tire they show'd look'd real good-no issues-just my opinion

Thanks TOG, thats the picture- tire looks good to me (I'm think'n right rear-no brake on the wheel)
No brake on the wheel? What???

You realize the brakes (rotors, calipers, etc) are located on the "hub" of the car, right?

Did you mean brake dust? Dont expect much of that on any wheels at Daytona...
brake dust- missed it by one word.
I figured, haha. I was just trying do poke some fun,:)
Nice live update
Thanks TOG
Good to know he's playing it by ear. I'd hate to think Rob is determined to lay back. I think it'll really come down to who's running where,& where Rob wants to fit in
Thanks for the update TOG, you've definitely stepped up your game in 2009
