2010 Dakar Rally Promo scheme

Why would Robby not try and make this happen...imagine the PR for a Oct or Nov Cup race promoting the 2010 Dakar Rally. With Gordon running 3 Hummers next year and the growing interest in the US, this would be a huge story. I would think Monster, jim Beam, Toyo Tires, Polaris and othe sponsors would jump at the opportunity to join this promotion.

It would definitely gets alot of press during The Chase, and might gain some interest in the garage...

Could be wrong on this, but would Toyo be able to sponsor? If Sprint has an exclusive on all Cellular companies I would think GY has a similar deal with nascar as far as tires go.

Not sure if Toyo could sponsor or not, just did this a concept. I'm sure Toyota wouldn't allow Hummer either, but Polaris, Monster, Jim Beam should be good to go. Just thought this would be a great idea with Robby putting 3 Hummers in the 2010 race. Dakar should really look at sponsor a cup race as a promo for the 2010 Rally

JUST GOT WORD FROM RGM, THEY LOVE THE IDEA & LIKED THE DESIGN ALSO. They said they attempted some type of angle before, but not really like this and love the idea...we'll see!

They should be trying to get the ASO involved in sponsering this. Could help them make the DAKAR more popular here in the states.

Remember, it was a fan that suggested to Robby they offer Ambrose a car at Watkins Glen...guess we think of things they don't from time to time...if this happened I would be so pumped!

They loved the car design, how cool is that!

Robby is running three Hummers in 2010? I think you better check with GM on that. I think it's a great idea , but not even GM is sure the Hummer brand will be around next year. They might be running Toyotas...thats fine too.
