Bellow you will find a link to Eric's incident. I post this not for the fact of seeing the incident, but to show the immediate effort that Eric and Alex showed. Our Team Dakar USA has handled this situation very professionally. As you can see, Alex is out of the truck before it even stops moving. While watching the video your heart must go out to Eric. At the end of the video they are yelling at Eric "go go go." Its sad this incident happened, but in my opinion it could not have been handled any better.

Per Will Higman on a another forum:

Eric is a really great person and I know first hand how hard this is for him. He has never had an incident like this before in his racing career and I bet he would trade all those years for this not to have happened.

Eric is going to the hospital today to visit the guy and make sure everything is OK before we leave Buenos Aires.

My heart went out to Eric as soon as I read of the incident and seeing the remorse that was so apparent brought tears to my eyes.

The immediate effort both he and Alex showed was heroic in its own right.
Unbelievable. I agree that this was handled as good as can be given the situation. Hope all is well. Very classy of EV to stop by before leaving.
Shoulda said get tissues ready for that one :( My heart sunk.
Prayers to that person and family.
I recall someone saying there's sites out there that will translate a webpage, anyone have one fave'd?

I found 3 links on the accident, I think anyways? 29 y/o is all I can pick out

The above link is where you can translate text or web pages. Just know that it is literal translation, so word syntax and grammar is going to be off.

Here is the translation of the first link...

The French reversed a spectator with 7 kilometers of L ’ arrived at Buenos Aires. This person is in a serious condition.
New accident on Dakar. Whereas the race was going to find its term in Buenos Aires, Eric Vigouroux at the wheel of his Hummer, reversed a spectator, with 7 kilometers of the arrival, in a zone where there was not supposed to be of the public. The victim, 29 years old, lost consciousness. It was transported towards the hospital nearest before being led towards that of Rosario, adapted better. She suffers from a cranial traumatism and its state is considered to be serious by the doctors.
Thanks for your help!
one of the reasons my family quit racing in mexico in 78
i only crew on off road cars now
That was not Robby, that was the Monster truck of Alan Pflueger.
dude....you didn't ask a question, you made a statement as if it were a fact...and then you blow if off by saying its just on the web, as if its the web's responsibility to clean up after you. RG gets blamed for alot of stuff, lets try to make sure we don't cause any more grief for the guy. savvy?
young Jeff is upset...what to do, what to do? Here's the deal...do us all a favor next time and have a little more respect for the board and for what you are saying. We have no way of knowing your intent...there are alot of new fans on this board and many have little history with RG, so when you say a wheel on Robby's TT hit a fan, your are perpetuating a falsehood, knowingly or not, and folks might actually believe it. I'm not saying don't contribute...you can regale us with your opinions all day long...hell, some of them might even be entertaining. But next time think twice before making a statement of fact...you follow?

I'm going to ignore the FO shit...I remember when I had my first beer too
Chill out! ... sounds like that first beer was last week!
Well said!
