Final day of the 2009 Dakar rally. Thanks for all the participation during the past 2 weeks.

Stage 14 - Saturday, January 17

Cordoba > Buenos Aires

Connection: 224 km | Special: 227 km | Connection: 341 km | Total: 792 km

The adventure began on La Pampa. After having explored two veritable nation-continents, the competitors will find a more familiar type of landscape. On long, rolling routes, concentration remains necessary. Those who arrive with a ranking in Buenos Aires will have achieved the most impressive loop ever undertaken in rally-raid. And they will remain forever first

I'm sure this has already been said somewhere on the planet.. But did you all see the poll on the bottome of the nascar.com page? Asking..: With death and serious injury occurring at this year's Dakar Rally, should Robby Gordon race again next year?

just thought i would let people know if they didn't.
that was posted by somebody who is clueless about Dakar.

Real racers don't worry about death.
No I didn't see that Jack.. but we know that wouldn't stop Robby. Did you look to see what the poll results were?
yeah.. i looked.... I'd like to know the few people that actually said no...lol..
Yes
8485 86%
No
1410 14%

and TOG... 95% of the polls on nascar.com are written from people that are clueless.. they never seem to ask a question on the poll that is true to the point of it..
14% of people voted no.. but about 10000 people voted.. I hope Gordon and Miller placing well in this years rally opened the eyes of American racing fans and media.
Good thing no one has ever been hurt or died at Dakar before...
Sorry guys and gals, won't be here to celebrate podium finish today, DAKAR has been a blast, thanks TOG!!!

Going riding today, starting in lower az desert at will be about 60 dgrs be up around 8500 ft in snow by lunch and back to truck will be about 75 out my own little dakar today

sounds like fun.. I was racing the BAJA 1000 yesterday.. on the family nintendo Wii... lol
RG should be off, Roma already to KM 47
man this sucks....lol.. Roma is alreay in the first Km marker... Robby hasn't even left the start line yet....lol
I guess we'll know in about 15 minutes how competative RG plans on being today.. or if he's just crusin!! You think Depping is pulling over to wait for De Villers and Miller today?
De Villers has crossed already.. Miller hasn't yet.. I guess that tells you who is scheduled to be the overall winner...lol.. My guess is Depping has fallen back to ride with miller
