Stage 13 - Friday, January 16

La Rioja > Cordoba

After having swallowed thousands of kilometers, participants will face a first-class physical challenge in this next-to-the-last stage. State-of-the-art pilots must maintain their position, while amateurs must avoid an excess of confidence. Errors can leave bitter memories, since this will be the day of cacti. At the bivouac, doctors will no doubt be called on to wield the tweezers. Finally, for the experts of traditional rallies, certain routes are part of the patrimony of the World Cup that takes place every year in Cordoba. Here, aficionados will guarantee a large popular fiesta.

THey don't seem to post the withdrawals until they depart the next morning, but if he hasn't come in yet, he's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay behind and no longer much of a concern if the Hummer makes it back to BA
Shit, I just read on another thread that they may not have the support trucks tonight to replace the clutch!!! OOHHH Shiiiiit!
I think they have the support trucks tonight. If not, maybe he can take EV's clutch.
Where did you guys find out about the support trucks tonight?
Well, I guess I was wrong. I just looked at the Dakar website. Hummm....Fly wasn't concerned. He said RG would win tomorrow. RG must be prepared for this. I'm not worried about it.
I spotted this on the Dakar site. Does that mean no assistance before stage 12 or stage13?

Stage 12 - Thursday, January 15
Fiambala > La Rioja
Connection: 4 km | Special: 253 km | Connection: 261 km | Total: 518 km

As concerns crossings, the day’s special is a concentrate of technique. Various types of dunes will be encountered, including the very formidable “white dunes”. Just three days from arrival, this stage can scramble rankings, especially because the assistance vehicles will not have access to the Fiambala bivouac. The Golden Rule is still: “know how to economize your machine”.
It was supposed to be between stages 11 and 12. 11 was canceled so we should have support tonight.
Robby's not going to go over a bunch of huge sand mountains and not anticipate changing the clutch overnight.....with or without support trucks. I bet he has a clutch and and could do it himself, blindfolded, and one hand tied behind his back. A clutch is a consumable item and I'm he has a plan for not only that repair, but even more obsure repairs.
Kurt you need to share the stuff your smoking to believe he's not going to change the clutch or anything that is even remotely suspect. lol all in good fun!
Hey Kurt, sorry I didnt read your comment fully. I guess I just wasnt paying attention. Just in from work and the kids talking wanting my attention, and I was quickly trying to catch up on days happenings around the Planet...I need a beer or 12...
T
no problem. A couple days ago I was hella pissed because they cancelled a stage....now I'm excited. By the way, I dig this site and all the contributers. Everybody stays positive and they are not flaming each other. I used to to go to race-dezert.com, but found this group more effective for following the race. Thanks TOG for making it happen, and thanks to everyone else for making it real! GO Robby! ( I'm lurking everyday while I work, I'm friggin' hooked)
Roma is in around 40th, 7 hours down for the stage but still 6th overall.
