Hi Speed! Sorry I didn't get anymore updates. How did you fare with Gustav? Brownsville totally lucked out this time.

Gustav (or what's left) paid a visit....for about 20 minutes. Hardly enough to notice. Hate having to cover for others at work! Think that's why I'll take off a week and let someone else do it FOR ME!!! hee hee hee. Hope you get some rest!

Yeash Gustave was a naughty boy! You might have to deal with IKE, however! He looks to be headed toward the Gulf! We're having rain and humidity from Hannah right now!

Oh, Gustav just teased us. Lots of clouds and overcast but just bare minimum of rain for a bit then just mist for awhile. Not enough moisture to make any difference.
Hate to hear about the wasps! One little honeybee can cripple me...wasps would put me in the hospital! Hope you are okay! Yeah, Ike could be a problem. As long as there is a storm out there anywhere, sweetie won't get to leave to finish our vacation. *sigh* Hope Robby does well in Richmond and you get to see the race. Yeah, Hanna came in last night! dumped a bunch of rain and then left! Sun is out this AM! Keep an eye out for IKE! I'm hearing he's a nasty one!

Hey TSD, hope you're coping wit IKE heading your way.... do you live close to his path? The surrounding area gets hit pretty hard also, so hang on..My prayers for all who have to deal with any violent weather. In Mi , a tornado is a possibility occasionally, but that's about all, snow and ice storms are a pain, but not life threatening, if you don't try to go out in them . My great aunt rode out a horrible hurricane that hit Corpus Christi many years ago that had all the adults talking in my family, when kids didn't have a need to know about adult problems, but I remember the concern..Stay safe ...people are praying for "you" (Texas) take care, Chris

Forgot about the time difference, you're probably still at work....I can't imagine having to leave my home under the circumstances that you are having to do, but staying safe is the most important thing. Do you have a 'survival kit ' with important documents , jewelry, keepsakes packed and ready? Just take whatever you can and get out where ever they send you..family in the area you can go to? Hey Sweetie, just wanted to know that I am thinking about you...know if you wee somewhere you could post , that you would, although I realize the Planet is the least of your concerns. Thanks for letting me know you're home...someone here told me that you were with a friend and o.k. never the less the whole "IKE" ordeal must have been horrible for you...and everyone i it's path...just not knowing what you would find, or not find on your return home.We got almost 6 inches of rain from the aftermath, rain that was badly needed here....Ironic isn't it? be careful with the clean-up, hope you have some help. any idea when the power will be restored/ We went a week once, but have a whole house generator , which we used intermittingly for the fridge etc.Good to hear from you, take care,Chris

Wowie...sorry to hear you have been living primatively for so long. We didn't even get a drop of rain. The wind was no more than we usually get on a spring day. (I grew up in Eastern New Mexico, and in my opinion it was merely a breeze). How long did it take you to stop walking in a room and flipping on the light switch out of habit. hahah!!

Thinking of you and hoping things are getting back to normal for you! We take electricity for granted and are lost when it's not there. Take care!

Think God you are safe and all is pretty much back to normal! Hurricanes are just so foreign to us up in the Norteast. Of course we have Nor'easters in the winter and they can be nasty in their own right!

Hey TSD, hope you're getting things back to as normal as they can be after such a disaster.I always feel sorry for the children who don't understand "weather" and are so scared as a result . Bet some are scared or scarred for life. I still remember when we lived in a mobile home 50 years ago and had a tornado warning. My grandmother was visiting and walking the small hall, saying the rosary. We had a really nice trailer, 10 feet wide and 40 feet long, lol. She was terrified, funny thing I'm probably about the same age now that she was then. How time flies, lol The noon news just came on, Yikes, got to get ready for work NOW. TTYL, take care,Chris

I know there was a lot of hard work involved but it could have been worse, as we well know. getting colder by the day in Mi, have had heavy frost already. I go to my grandson's football games on Fri nights,and almost froze my gulu offf last week and it was only in the low 40's. Last division game this week, playoffs start next week, BBRRR. Here's hoping this week is better for RGM than Martinsville, not that he has ever done well there anyway, but losing the gearbox just finished him off early. Off to bed to read, take care,Chris

TSD, glad everything is almost back to normal, whatever that is, for any of us, lol.Is there such a thing? Cold in Mi right now, going down into the high 20's tonight, burrrr, but will be back in the 50's Friday during the day. I'll be freezing my tail off at my grandson's football game Fri night while all the little trick or treaters are out.....the team made the state playoff's, so I am happy to freeze my butt offf for this game. maybe happy is too strong of a word....
