For those that feel the place was empty, check out photos 29 and 30 here: http://stadiumsupertrucks.com/ssts/gallery/sst-at-university-of-pho...

Number #8 as well...

I notice a lot of happy smiling faces!
I wasn't even there and was grinning ear to ear . All the pics and vids I got from Wally were awesome !!! Just wait til this wknd on tv and then when I'm actually there at ATL . I know I'm kinda bias cause I already LOVE this stuff but , I'm positive once more people see and know about SST they be addicted like me . ( ok maybe not as bad as me but close enough so they'll wanna see it live lol )

as per the crowd I heard someone say "maybe they should have started the series at the LA location.........I say No.....any bugs to be worked out get them worked out before you hit what is considered a high sales fan event. Kudos

I see my wife in pic 29

i like the loud back fire from gas smashed full throttle

As for attendance, the first ever SST race appears to have a larger crowd than most of the events shown in this Monster Truck video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqHixJVRiGw&feature=endscreen

But who knows, perhaps stadium venue Monster Truck shows are done for. Monster Truck events have survived for a long time, and I really do not understand why.

SST has WAY more going for it than does Monster Trucks. SST's are true race machines. SST has the potential to be highly competitive and an amazing displaying of amazing driving skills. What Robby has achieved already to this point is phenomenal!

Does anybody on the Planet know regarding Stadium Super Cross? Is Super Cross doing well? Do they sell out? Is the bulk of the income come from ticket sales?

I'm thinking that SST would love to be as successful as Super Cross. But I'm also thinking that SST would still be successful enough to survive, if it is only as popular as Monster Trucks.

Anybody on the Planet care to educate me a bit?

I also think that it will not be long until you see an SST styled street truck in your hometown soon.

@Hendricus, kids,Bigfoot is about the kids, they love it! Add to that, kids racing Super Trophy Karts. How many kids in the crowd are bugging Mom and Dad for a Trophy Kart?
As for SuperCross, yes the Planet mostly cover's it with chat when the event has live television.Last weeks event was the first missed event in a couple of years (see Biker Bar group) Yes, SuperCross is doing well attendance wise, manufacture support, ect. As for the financial statement, I have no idea, only Feld Entertainment knows. They also own the Monster Jam series and most of the trucks. The interesting thing about last weekend is Bounty Hunter (independent truck owner) ran and won the SST BigFoot race.
Robby has the right idea (opposite of Nascar) by being inclusive.Examples, Traxxas grille on the SST's.No conflict with actual manufactures,Tire's are open to any DOT 35"s (I believe 35"s) Toyo,ProComp and Yokohama are supporting the series. No energy drinks are excluded, ect

Thanks Mike. When Robby announced SST last year, I thought "That idea has potential, but to make it REALLY happen... ya... You're a crazy man Gordon! A dreamer!" But low and behold, Robby is pulling it off! The evening looks to be really fun too. Mike as you said, it's big fun for the kids too. I'm going to load up the Country Squire for the LA race. I also think that after NBC starts televising, many more people will attend.

Another thing that's going to be interesting to learn about is what it takes to repair the trucks between races. The fiberglass panels will soon be bought 100 at a time.

Somehow the series needs to be a win win for everybody involved. I believe the drivers will need more motivation than just the series purse. If the only motivation is the purse, once a driver knows he's a long shot to win it, he has no reason to continue and may drop out.

The small business, true sportsman sense, you get from Robby makes it fun. Robby does need to spend a little more time with Arie though, and teach him how to jump. He lands nose down a lot. Ain't quite got it figured out yet.
