Robby featured on "The 10"

Tonight's episode was about the top ten most bone headed moves

#8 on the list was Robby not letting Harvick pass during the 2001 Sonoma race

and these morons were bashing Robby, saying how dumb it was for not letting Harvick by, are these idiots blind? First of all it was Harvick giving Robby a hard time by constantly bumping into him, second of all Robby was doing all he could on horribly worn tires, and last if he just let Harvick by that would have left room for Stewart to get by, not to mention Kevin would have held Robby up.

did any of those factors get mentioned? no. those idiots just bashed Robby.

I'm just surprised Robby even got featured on one of their crappy shows, it was a dumb list anyway.

That was the race that made me a fan. Yeah he didn't win but damn he literally drove the wheels off that thing.

I remember sitting in turn 5 during that race. Rob was definiately putting on a show. Keeping a car between him and stewart seemed a good idea, but harvick wasn't having anything of it. Two naturally stubborn drivers doing what they do best...race cars.

I remember his CC that day slowly walking between Childress pit stand and Jim Smith's , I remember Benny Parsons saying something to the effect that he needed to move a little faster..LOL man RG was brain dead that day, could have gotten his first win. What a year that was: My facts could be a little off, but never let the truth get in the way of a good story:(1) Started for the 4 Morgan Mc Clure felon car and then released. (then later paid $$$$ for his contract)
(2) Almost won the race for Jim Smith in the Nations Rent Ford
(3) Mike Skinner injured in the 31 Lowes RCR Chevy
(4) RG replaces Skinner in the 31 Lowes RCR Chevy
(5) RG DNQ's for the Atlanta race in the 31 Lowes RCR Chevy
(6) Mike skinner loving above statement
(7) RG wins the delayed Race at New Hampshire in the Lowes 31 RCR Chevy
(8) Mike Skinner put on "Suicide watch"
(9) Lowes leaves RCR for the 48 and RCR gives Gannassi a welcome to Nascar moment and gets the Cingular sponsorship from him and takes it to 31

putting a lapped car between him & stewart was a good call, but Harvick was just a bit better than RG probably anticipated. RG was confident he was better on older tires than Harvick was on newer tires. Thats racing. hindsight 20/20

I've criticized some RGM road course strategy in the past, but this wasn't a bad call, and certainly not "brain dead". Should have let Harvick go right away BUT by the time that became apparent, it was too late, so had to stick with original strategy.

RG was doing a hell of a job in the Texaco 28 at dega that day. What a sad site to not see Davey Allison wheeling that car. 1993 was a deadly year, if I remember correctly this was around the time that Ford was very high on RG and Michael Kranfuss (wrong spelling) wanted RG in the 28. If only he wouldn't have brushed the apron.....Oh well he was putting on a great showing that day while it lasted. I remember meeting Davey at speedweeks at the 1992 daytona 500. I went out with a friend of mine who at the time was doing the PR work for Chad Littles 66 Trop Artic Ford and the night before the race went to a Philips 66 party at the Charthouse , drank way to much and ended up sleeping through the race in the Team RV, had pit passes, and suite tickets, and guess I should have turned in my man card that day. Man what a dumbass I was, but great day to be an Allison fan

Spot on DG, man i jus watched it...Some people you just can't ever win lol , Dude's were idiot's ( and were all dumbass'es here and there) but come on, like RG wouldn't want somebody in between him and Stewart ( especially in that day)- like if it came down to it, he wouldn't of punted RG in 11. Those dude's were just on the bandwagon that day, talking the same PC Nascar shit!

Robby's biggest dumbass moment for me was blowing a tire at Indy and trying to make it back around to pit road --- take the penalty and restart at the end of the line. You would still have had a fast car and a chance to make it back up. DOH!
