GODSPEED RGM FAST FAST FAST WATCH OUT FOR THE BIG ONE!
After Daytona, I agree. Riding around the back is safe, but if you get lapped (which is happening more with the COT at plate tracks) it becomes very hard to win. Last year Robby had great finishes, but he was lapped a couple of those races and the "Lucky Dog" saved him.

It's not our job as fans to tell Robby what to do, but I would love to see the #7 get up front stay with the lead pack and have a shot at the win. I believe the last few times Robby has been to Dega he's had one of the fastest cars. It's great strategy to try and avoid teh "Big One" but what happens if your a lap down and can't get back (see Daytona).
Hopefully we don't loose the draft! The car looks like we won't i guess it all depends on qualifing.
Riding at the back netting the second best average finish at plate tracks last year.

I think people are over-reacting based on what happened at Daytona. Just to clarify, he was the 3rd or 4th car from the front when that wreck happened, trying to get his lap back. Had he been at the back of the field, he would have gotten the free pass. (Nascar did not award the free pass to any car since all cars one lap down were involved in the accident)

I do agree though Big Zoom that it becomes a game of luck if he goes a lap down. That game does have better odds than running in the middle of the draft though, 2008 results show that.
I can only have heartedly agree. Look back @ Daytona 07/08, finished p6. Where would he have finished, if he'd started his kamakazee run sooner? How bout if he was in a contenders spot COMING to the green?
The 500 this Feb...he was pretty close to the front (not on the lead lap),& was dogfighting with others in the same position. If he was on the lead lap, he'd have been better off. Most of these guys get themselves in position earlier than RG does, so they don't have to scramble thru the idiots trying to salvage a top 20.
Up front is generally pretty well behaved nowadays until go time, at which time, it's better to drive away from the wreckage, than drive thru it....COPY THAT ROB?
Try it, you may very well like what you find
I agree. I don't mind the riding in the back thing; I just think Robby needs to make his move a little bit sooner.
Rob was one lap down cuz a shock bolt came out and he pitted my himself.

I agree, stay on lead lap and stay to the front. Throw it all out there on sunday, the bad luck is behind ya
Don't race stupid, save it for when it counts. I like the riding in the back strategy
Riding in the back is cool, for a while. Theres no need in putting a perfectly capable car in harms way trying to dodge the mid-pack cars in the last segment. Be up front,& ready to strike before that, tear it up going for the win at least, not 20th.
I agree - stick with what has worked for you.

In the last 8 races at Taladega, Robby has the best record of closing in the final laps. In the last 10% of the race, Robby gains 5.9 positions, on average. The next best is Vickers, gaining an average of 5 spots.

The only thing I'd have Robby do different is to head to the front a little bit sooner. He typically starts to move forward with 40 or 50 laps left to go. That works okay if it stays green, but there have been several time where an extended yellow (or two) occurs in those final laps, not leaving Robby enough time to challenge for the lead.
huh?
Got a good feeling about the race on sunday boy's and girl's. I love that 7 car ! " GO GET'EM ROBBY "
