STAGE 2 TRACKING

STAGE 2: VILLA CARLOS PAZ > SAN JUAN

Connection 107km | Special Stage 518km | Total 625km

COURSE OVERVIEW

Any rest will be short-lived, because before reaching San Juan, the competitors will have a particularly busy schedule: quite simply the longest special stage in the rally, which is varied enough to unsettle even the most experienced of drivers. Hard terrain at the start of the race will be followed by dusty sections in the middle of the day and a sandy stretch to finish. This is the first real test, which can only be successfully overcome through constant vigilance.

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

And our man is in !!!!!
So from what I can tell, robby waited for 2 1/2 hour's for a tow? Why? I guess we will all find out soon

Reports that the bike and quad were running out of water to drink with hours left to ride tells me it was hell out there.

For 10 years now, I wait all year for this race. Winning stages and getting all the bugs out for next years Dakar will satisfy me. Gas on team Gordon

Gas On¡¡¡¡¡
Robby is doing a good job.
Very hard stage today, Peterhanssel, Nani Roma.... a lot of top ten drivers with issues today, and with bigger budgets...so GAS ON, we support you Robby keep figthing and winning stages¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

I'm with you, ramm. Sadly, a one car, non-factory supported team stands little chance. I've been a fan since the CART days, through the Nascar stuff, and now through this. He brings excitement, and heartache, everywhere he goes. That's just how it is. I'm OK with it, as I go in optimistic as hell, but eyes wide open.

I agree! It comes with the territory!!

any news yet what went wrong there near the end?

Just remember the HST GORDINI is new to the Dakar and needs to develop

no, nothing new, hopped up version of SST, brake systems are not usually a major problem in racing off road unless you totally break something. this is just plan bad luck

I think the brake problem was least of his issues. Want to hear what broke in the sand. As he needed to be towed, my guess is gears.

Im guessin clutch...just a guess.
