STAGE 3 TRACKING

STAGE 3: San Rafael > San Juan

Connection 291km | Special Stage 208 | Total 499km

COURSE OVERVIEW

The Andes Cordillera, ever-present throughout the 2012 Dakar, is very demanding for the drivers. The crossing of rivers and the many holes and stones that the drivers will have to avoid during the day's special stage, will make the terrain particularly gruelling. The sturdiness of the engines will be put to the test if the drivers do not remain attentive. But the altitude and the reliefs provide both magnificent landscapes, with every shade of red possible, and small acrobatic challenges, such as a steep climb that the motorcyclists will definitely have to finish in first gear.

Looks like it, just got home and trying to figure if it was a good day, looks so.

The new NBC Sports network is broadcasting the Dakar stage reports.

Anyone else been noticing that the Brit broadcast keeps harping on how the hummers will be complete shite in the Dunes?

Shit no... They have always loved the Hummer...

The dunes will be much better once they get new tires no doubt.

The only challange the HUMMERs have in the dunes is that they need to keep momentum, being 2WD. Stopping in the wrong spot/uphill/witchesback and they get stuck. Other than that they fly through them with their wheel travel.

They just covered stages 1 & 2, bikes, trucks, and cars. A lot of Robby and Nasser coverage. Probably the Versus edition.

there going to take control tomorrow the hummers are way way better in the dunes thats what they were built for ......for Africas dunes

look at the time they made up in the dunes in stage 2 it was min

to show how good of an organization RGM is they are one of the teams to beat in such a short time that they have been running these rally's watching robby wheel these trucks makes you realize what a special person and driver he is,he's the best around without a doubt keep up the good work
