STAGE 7 TRACKING

STAGE 7: SALTA > SALTA

Connection 230km | Special Stage 533km | Total 763km

COURSE OVERVIEW

This mega loop with a 500-km long special stage on the agenda will test the teams’ ability to adapt to changes of pace. After stony terrains at the beginning of the day, some top speeds will be recorded in the second part of the stage, and then the drivers’ road techniques will be tested, and all of this at an average altitude of almost 3,500m. To end this highly emotional day, they will have to cross a vast salt flat extending over twenty or so kilometres: a straight stretch which will make the competitors’ heads spin.

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

David Z, In a buggy? Race car or recreational?

Cadillac Deville.

With 22" spinners?

I like spinners

Yeah, they was some sharp dressers..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKbADFJOCkU

HaHa, no, more of a black mob mobile than a gangbanging pimpster..

That just ruins our mental image of you.

What? They moved the radiator to the front? Guess I missed that.

I'd find it for you, but I need to skedaddle in a minute. There's pics and discussion yesterday that tells about.

I have to believe that scattering the engine is something they've been avoiding. It's a big job! Looking at the basics of engine cooling:
(1) Engine issues (The point made here).
(2) Radiator size.
(3) Airflow through radiator.
(4) Water pump.

With the radiator now in supposedly a good flow location, we can check off (3), for now anyway. I assume (2) and (4) are fine as well. What's left? - This is assuming my list is complete.

Well done RG for getting it home again. And Kellon too. Just keep going, this years rally is just brutal.

Agree! Good job nursing her home, Robby and Kellon!

That poor crew! I see another all nighter coming. But us older guys know that some of those "all hands on deck moments" are the greatest moments of our lives.
