STAGE 7 TRACKING

STAGE 7: CALAMA > SALTA

Connection 534km | Special Stage 220km | Total 754km

COURSE OVERVIEW

The ascent of the Andes Cordillera will be in the small hours, taking all the drivers and teams in convoy for a liaison stage finishing at a record altitude of 4,975 metres, at the top of Argentina’s highest mountain pass. During the special stage, the needle of the altimeter will fluctuate between 3,400 m and 4,000 m, but the speedometer will rarely go below 100 km/h, despite the lack of power which will affect all the vehicles. Still on the subject of figures, at this time of the year and at the highest altitude, the thermometer will display an average temperature of 15 degrees. When all is said and done, the biggest difficulty will be for motorcyclists to maintain their stamina. They will be welcomed in a bivouac which has been relocated for the first part of their marathon stage.

They must have stopped those behind the accident.
The 106 was to start 76th and there have only been 75 starters for quite some time.

OK now they show 82 have reached wp1 but still only show 75 started.

Despres down 9 min thru wp3 - yeah

Caselli still 1st of 1st 3 at wp4

JC down 21 min at wp2 48th of 48

Make that 54th of 54.

I haven't kept up with the bikes much, why is Campbell so far down?

No clue.
He has been running slow pretty much the whole rally

Broke the 2nd day I think it was and Robby had to stop and give him some parts or something.

Robby did stop. Campbell had fuel system issues

Caselli 1st of 3 at wp5.
Short hop to the finish and he could win the stage.

Despres dropped 2 more min - down 11 now.
