Better then the All Star Race! Robby's going to race the LOORRS Glen Helen short course off road race

Robby Gordon To Take On The Best of Short Course Racing at Glen Helen

Corona, Calif. (May 11, 2011) – Probably the most versatile racecar driver in the world, Robby Gordon is always racing. Whether it’s stock-car racing, open-wheel, or where he got his start in off-road, Gordon is always behind the wheel of some sort of automobile, ready to take on whoever will line up against him.

And on May 21-22, at the Glen Helen round of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, Robby Gordon will be returning to his roots in short-course off-road racing, taking part in the premier Pro 2 Unlimited class.

“Robby’s from Southern California originally, and having him – a famous off-road and NASCAR racer – out on the track will only bring more fans and more competition to an already popular and competitive series,” says Tony Vanillo of the Lucas Oil Off road Racing Series. “We’re really excited to see how he fares out there against the best of the best in modern short-course racing.”

Gordon himself looks at this as a chance to get back to his roots.

“Short-course racing is a lot of fun,” says Gordon. “They’re sprint races, so they aren’t long, and I don’t want to say there’s a lot of beating and banging because I don’t want to beat up my truck, but there is a lot of tight, wheel-to-wheel racing out there. It’s a good show.”

“Too much business, not enough fun lately,” Gordon says, “But since we weren’t in the All-Star Race [in NASCAR that weekend], and with the television package the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series provides, we figured it was a good opportunity to promote our product, Speed Energy, on our truck.”

If you’re in or near Southern California, don’t miss this opportunity to see Gordon take on the rest of the top drivers in Pro 2.

Thanks for the info guys....
Any TV coverage?
@Chris, Speed usually shows the Lucas Off Road Racing Series on Saturdays mid day'ish. The Glen Helen event may be mid to late June before we see it. If Nena is in 'chat' Sunday,I'll try to remember to ask.

KICK SOME ASS ROBBY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like this one!!
Darn those audibles, wish I would of known sooner.Already have other plans for that weekend or would of been there, best of all go out and have fun sounds like a great plan.
Will Robby be doing any other appearances around the Glen Helen area that weekend?
Planet Robby meet up........we will be there in the souvenier trailer and F1 chase truck. Shouldn't be too hard to spot. Pick a meet up time!! GAS ON.
I wonder if Robby has considered sponsoring Adrian Cenni in the LOORS series , he's already got an orange truck plus its a Chevy too .

"Friend" wants to know will Robby be there all weekend. Want to know if they buy the weekend tickets, but don't want to "waste their money if Robby isn't there on Sunday". I don't want to be blamed, so I am asking my experts!
I have to agree that Robby is a great driver no matter what wheel he is behind be it off road or black top no other nascar driver could drive the off roads like Robby does
