Whoo-hoo! I'm glad to hear this!
Best news of the 2012 racing season for sure. According to rumors, the RPM seat isnt a given for KB yet.
Lime Mark Mrtins first year at Hendrick.
Something similar happened to him in CART... didnt he win a third of the races that year?
(EDIT) He won half the races that year at Forsythe.
Latest reports have David Ragan leading the way for the #43...although many reporters have stated that RPM would like to have 1. Kurt 2. Reutimann 3. Ragan (in that order)...the fact that Ragan is surfacing to the top sounds more like Roush getting involved to put Ragan at RPM... Jim Utter stated that sponsorship is keeping Kurt & Reutimann from getting a deal with RPM...I'm sure RPM is trying to land Kurt & a sponsor... Valvoline? Air Force is a 1 year bid deal, so they can't change terms. RPM would need to work other sponsor relationships to increase their involvement to bring Kurt onboard or attract a new sponsor...difficult to do this late in the year...
One reporter stated Finch (51 team) would likely go with Reutimann or Ragan over Kurt...we'll see...
Well RPM IS Roush-lite, so that wouldn't surprise me. No idea on sponsors though, and that was a big reason the #6 closed down. Good for AJ though, Penske is a class act.
Valvoline is already doing some races on the 17, though they might show up elsewhere in the Ford camp too. I don't see Roush sharing a sponsor with Kurt Busch.
David Ragan and Petty belong together. King Richard, the Faust of NASCAR and Mr. Forgettable. Maybe TOG will link or re-post a blog piece he wrote about David Ragan, a young fan, and the autograph.
I am happy about this for sure AJ is one of the truly good guys in the sport and with his improvements he deserves a full time ride in a good rig. No offense to Regan but I'm really happy that AJ is in a quality ride with a solid sponsor.
