New Planet Robby Fan Club Organized
The charter Planet Robby fan club- New Hampshire branch was organized this weekend in Epsom, NH. Members of the Planet attended from as far away as Tennessee, West Virginia and New York. Guests stayed at the infamous “La Maison de Souris”.
Opening ceremonies began with dinner at John’s Seafood & Steak House. Elections were held after dinner with the following results: President- Path, Vice President- Ms. Gibby, Secretary/Social Director- Sarah (She brought the alcohol!), Treasurer- Mouse and Historian- Dave. Social hour and day one activities concluded at 3:30am with the watching of Nascar Now.
Day 2 began at 4:30am with the ceremonial sporting of the Robby Gordon colors. Morning toasts were made with various flavors of Monster coffee drinks. The club members arrived at New Hampshire Speedway at 7am for a full day of racing. This included two cup practices, the Nascar Camping World Series East race, the Whelen Modified race and the Craftman Truck Series race. As an added bonus, a great melee transpired on pit road at the conclusion of the truck race.
After dinner at Beefside, the club members went to the Draft where Robby was scheduled to make an appearance. Due to lack of attendance, the group enjoyed a lot of one on one time with Robby. He shared his enthusiasm about Kirk, his new crew chief, by stating they had been friends for over 20 years. He felt good about the “house cleaning” that had occurred at RGM recently. He said not everyone had been firing on all 4 cylinders. When asked about the demise of the Uprising, Robby stated it needed to be shut down as Rob was spending too much time on it rather than the open wheel program. He gave his best wishes to the members of the Planet.
Door prizes were won by the gang. Dave- ride in the COT show car, Ms. Gibby- autographed die cast car and Sarah- autographed mini hood. Everyone received a Jim Beam key chain, autographed hat, and Jim Beam samples (not all drank it, but it did not go to waste!). The 2nd evening concluded at 2:30am.
Day 3 began at 4:30am much the same as day 2. Rained all day, but that did not stop some of the “Planeteers” from standing in line for Robby from 7:30 to 10:30 for another chance to see him, photos, and autographs. Robby recognized the group and called out to them about seeing them the night before. He also signed the promotional poster belonging to President Path. It reads, “I hung at the Draft with the Gang from Planet Robby Thanks Gang Robby Gordon”. The gang attended the Sylvania 300 which was won by Greg Biffle. Must have been the ‘Good luck’ wishes given to him by Sarah and Mouse earlier in the morning. LOL
The gang returned to “La Maison de Souris” for a huge barbecue prepared by Path and Mouse. The evening and inaugural convention concluded at 2am. Plans are in the works for future meetings.
It should be noted acquaintances were made throughout the weekend by other Planet inhabitants including Jason “Jay” Coffin, Toe357, Sul and Trudy from RUR. Rumor has it Alan4’s was there too, but just not sighted.

Glad to see you enjoying yourselves so much. I propose a Vegas chapter to your fan club. I know we have plenty of Nevada people here. And you California and Arizona people would be more than welcome!! We have the added benefit of getting to meet for some off road races. If RG sells, he'll have more time to devote to some of the desert races than go on around here that he used to run.

When you stay with Path and Mouse, you can't help but have a great time. Would go back again in a heartbeat!

When/if the economy ever gets better, we need to plan a big RG fan party here in Vegas. Everyone loves to party in Vegas! By then, we'll have our second race in the fall, and if my family members still have jobs...in casino/hotels, I can probably get discounts. I used to do that with my Sadler fan friends, and we had fun!
