I think I did this last year and got razed, but since we are all waiting for the Dakar to start and could care less about New Years Eve, let's put out some Dakar predictions. Here are mine.

Robby's Finish -Top 3 if no breakdowns longer than 40 min. At least 3 stage wins. I think third year cars are the sweet spot and a top three heck top 5 this year would be great.

Winner if not Robby - Unfortunately Nassar because I don't think even he can break those Mini's.

Peugeot Debut - Win some stages but break downs hurt them. Oh and Cyril sees Coma broke down on his bike and runs him over since Cyril is complete a-hole.

Other Stuff -
- Live chat breaks and everyone complains.
- People complain about no reports from TOG. Everyone defends TOG.
- Tracking on Dakar.com sucks and we all go to http://trackingdakar.nl/ and still complain.
- People will not stop talking about Gordini #2.
- Everyone will call the HST Gordini a Hummer and it will make us all mad.
- Something will break and some backyard mechanic will question why the hell Robby developed the car that way, or have some duct taped way to fix it.
- We will all dream of the day we get to go down and follow the Dakar. My bucket list item (need the cash and the bike skills) - http://www.rideadv.com/motorcycle-tours/special-events-offers-in-mo...
- I will try to figure out how I am going to follow the Dakar like I want to during one of the busiest two weeks I have ever had work wise.

What do you guys have? Would love to hear TOG's about what he expects from the Planeteers.

Get through stage 1 without any issues and it's smooth sailing from there :)

I think he will win aprox 5 stages, and hoping for a top 5 finish. Hope he smokes a few Mini's along the way.

- If we're in the hunt at Rest Day, watch out.
- Sainz will lead the Peugeot assault. Peterhansel will struggle with the 2WD and wind up on his lid. Despres will be no factor.
- The Mini's will dominate early. Infighting and team orders will become a distraction. Then come the mistakes.
- DeVilliers in the Toyota. He will quietly be lurking every damn day.

Nobody really talks about the Toyota and DeVilliers. He does a great job in that truck and it shows.

I'm taken vacation the first week, so I've got half of the work thing won.

I'm going ALL IN !
ROBBY WILL WIN OVERALL !!!!!

I could see closely this year, So, the first stage wins. begin to bet =)

Gordini wins every stage.

one day at a time .
how's the gordini and driver/navigator will do in these
WRC like tight twists and turns ?

Will be a excellent result if Robby can finish in the top 5 in those stages... i will go with DeVilliers new regulations improved the Hilux

On day 3, Sainz will publicly state that the SMG was a much better driving car, while giving his post stage win interview.
Also in the interview, "My English is not so good, how you say...sketchy, belly-up, hand-full".

I see what you did there LMAO. Like TOG said, lets hope there isn't a hole dug early for the Gordini. I would imagine that stage two's 518 race kilos will separate the wheat from the chafe so to speak. Keep close until rest day. Those 781 KMs on stage 8 will be a daunting task as if I remember correctly that's a lot of dunes and and that vicious decent to Iquique! That decent may be treacherous for what appears to be a top heavy Peugeot...
