It's getting close to the start of greatest race in the world, the 2015 Dakar Rally! In the days leading up to the start of stage 1, there will be many events taking place. Robby Gordon and a few #TeamSPEED members have already arrived in Argentina, and the remaining crew will arrive around Dec.30th.

The guys will pick up the support trucks and the Gordini, then they will setup the #TeamSPEED compound and work on the vehicle leading up to Scrutineering (Tech inspection). Scrutineering takes place from January 1st to 3rd in Buenos Aires. On Jan 3rd, the teams will parade to the 'opening ceremonies ramp' and all the drivers will be introduced. There will be links to the "LIVE TV FEED" available on Jan. 3rd.

Stage 1 begins on Jan. 4th, 2015. As always, we will have live raceday chat, stage threads, in-action updates, photos, videos, etc. The "official" #TeamSPEED daily stage videos will be hosted here as well. The guys on the crew will also be sending us updates from the frontline.

Nice find. Thanks for the share. Anyone find it in English?
Thanks

Thank you for the links!

As we all look forward to tomorrow with great hopes and excitement, here's a few stats to keep in mind. I've been keeping records on RG's Dakar performances for some time now and I hope these are interesting and can be improved upon this year! As a side note, the stats include the stages run under appeal in 2012.

Dakar stages started 104
Stage wins 9
Top 5 stage finishes 37
Top 10 stage finishes 55

Please also remember RG's position after stage 1 the last 2 years were 137th (2013) and 133rd (2014) so let's hope for just a nice steady incident free opening stage. It's a very long rally and it cannot be won in the first few days but can be lost! Good luck to RG and Johnny and all Team Speed!

Well said, Mark.

Amen!

Thanks Mark.

Especially fortunate that the team had the luxury of time to take an hour and half drive around BA and found the air blockage in the coolant!! Those first stages will be extra critical, as your stats certainly show.

i would be nervous as heck that some little old lady in an south american cadillac would run a red light or stop sign and crash into my race car!

Public relations king pin.........

I spent quite a bit of time in BA a few years ago. The only drivers I've ever seen as aggressive as RG were BA cabbies. He's right at home there----though I hope unlike them he keeps both hands on the wheel when passing a cathedral instead of making the sign of the cross!!
