Robby Gordon Pocono 500 Preview

Charlotte, NC (June 5, 2009) - Robby Gordon will be pulling double-duty this weekend. Before Gordon gets behind the wheel of his No. 7 Pittsburgh Paints Toyota, he will attempt to continue his dominance of the 2009 SCORE Desert Series in the 41st Tecate Baja 500 on Saturday. Gordon has a 125-point lead heading into the third of five races on the 2009 off-road season, resulting from his season-opening win in the Laughlin Desert Challenge and his second place finish in the San Felipe 250. While Gordon attempts to dominate the dirt in Mexico, Travis Kvapil will fill in as the driver of the No. 7 Pittsburgh Paints Toyota in Pocono for practice and qualifying.

TV and Radio Times – Qualifying is set for Friday, June 5th at 3:30 p.m. (ET) on SPEED TV, MRN, and Sirius. The 200 laps of racing action begins on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. and will be broadcast live on TNT, MRN and Sirius Satellite radio.

The No. 7 “Rocks” in Michigan: The No. 7 Jim Beam Team will host Kid Rock along with featuring a special Red Stag by Jim Beam/ Kid Rock paint scheme for the upcoming LifeLock 400 at Michigan International Speedway. This coincides with the recent announcement of Red Stag by Jim Beam’s partnership with multi-platinum superstar, Kid Rock, as a headline sponsor of Kid Rock’s 2009 Rock N’ Rebels Tour, which will hit 25 cities across North America this Summer.

Kid Rock will kick off the Red Stag by Jim Beam partnership on June 14, when the Detroit native will serve as Grand Marshal of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series LifeLock 400 race at Michigan International Speedway.

Fifty cents from every ticket sold for Kid Rock's upcoming concert tour will be donated to Operation Homefront, a non-profit organization that provides assistance to America's military veterans returning home to their families. Through their support of Operation Homefront, Red Stag and Kid Rock will help fund emergency aid, moving assistance, computer programs and care packages in local chapters throughout the country.

Red Stag, an all-new cherry-infused offspring of the world’s No. 1 selling bourbon is scheduled to launch in June and is the latest innovation from Beam Global Spirits & Wine Inc. [Fortune Brands, Inc. (NYSE: FO)].

Red Stag Michigan paint scheme will be cool
I'm wondering if its the one I did or if they had Kevin do one.

Pretty sweet drink for sure!!
quite possibly a Jim Beam drink I can stomach. I just can't drink the original jim beam , no disrespect to the product.
I'ma have to try that with Monster Assault. The "Stagg'rd Assault"
So with qualifying rained out and Wallace not making the race will we have Doug back on the spotter stand for the race are was someone else hired for that position and also does he help with the setups on the car are was/is limitted to spotter role??????
According to what Robby told an attendee at the Chicago Menards appearance, Doug will be with the team from now on.
they had real good chemistry at Dover behind the scenes. I think Doug is the best spotter for RG since Nick Defazio.
I have never met Kirk but he seems like a guy who is pretty secure in his ability as a CC and won't feel threatened with a former CC on board.
RGM will need another CC in the shop, whenever they get around to fielding a second car.
It is a rainy day after all...
great point.......
