STAGE 3 TRACKING

STAGE 3: SAN RAFAEL > SAN JUAN

Connection 295km | Special Stage 301km | Total 596km

COURSE OVERVIEW

The competitors of the 2014 Dakar will experience their first taste of the mountains by passing through the Pre-Andes. The Aconcagua Volcano stands 6,962m high and will observe the progress of the vehicles, of which a part will rehearse their high mountain driving techniques. The motorcyclists will climb up 4,300 metres during their special stage, on a ridgeline where they will have the impression of towering over the whole of America! The descent will bring them back to the tough reality of the drivers of the Dakar, as they will only have finished the first part of this marathon stage. They will have to ensure the mechanics for their own vehicles at the isolated bivouac which has been set up for them.

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

Lets hope the tracking works for this stage

We hope...

Well I don't think they have....anyway, Robby had a wicked run on this Stage 3.....good going Robby!

CP1 may or mat not work, same for CP2, but it will or won't work for motos only.

I cant understand why they haven't solved the vapor lock situation yet. Maybe they will get it solved before the start of day3.

we don't either, but we're here and not there

If not we seriously need to start looking into tow straps company's and get them sponsored ASAP.

Too bad they aren't allowed to use after market fuel rails.

I know they can't touch the engine but does that go for the fuel supply system as well. Being familiar with the non-return fuel systems on GM's would it be against the rules to relocate the pressure regulator from the tank up to the rail and add a return line. I know I have no idea what RG's setup is, I'm just going by what a factory setup is.

Damm good idea....!!!!!!

I know nothing about vapor lock. But I know, from my 37 years in aviation, that it is very hard and sometimes impossible to duplicate on ground (or in bivouac) symptoms that the pilot/driver experienced in air/track. Kind of tough to troubleshoot in the cool of the evening what manifests itself in the heat of the race. It still makes for an exciting event though. Hell, I went out today and bought my second TRAXXAS Dakar Edition just so I can enjoy some racing with my nephew! Does Robby/SPEED get anything back from them other than sponsorship? Just wondering. Gas on!
