nasCRAP is sounding more and more like a soap opera (or kinda like BITD / casey floks)

Next years championship will involve the regular season chase but then the top 12 drivers will fight in a over the top rope battle royal . With the winner getting a shot at the wwe championship the following Monday on Raw . Lmao

JEFF GORDON ADDED AS 13TH DRIVER ----Following a comprehensive review of all available audio and video communications from last Saturday nights NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Richmond International Raceway, along with interviews with team personnel, NASCAR announced Friday the following decision:
• Both the Front Row Motorsports and Penske Racing organizations have been placed on NASCAR probation until Dec. 31 for violating Section 12-1 (Actions detrimental to stock car racing).
• A 13th car the #24 would be added to this years Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.
Based on all of our findings this week, we determined both Front Row Motorsports and Penske Racing organizations would be placed on probation for the remainder of this season, said Brian France, NASCAR Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Additionally, based upon the totality of our findings, to be totally fair and equitable we decided that adding a 13th car to this years Chase is the appropriate action.
Beginning with our decision Monday, which resulted in an unprecedented team penalty, and continuing with further examination of actions involving two other race teams, it is clear to us that attempts to manipulate the results impacted the Chase field.
The integrity of our sport remains the cornerstone of NASCAR, and our actions this week speak to our commitment to ensure a level playing field for all competitors.
Additionally, NASCAR will conduct a mandatory meeting with drivers, owners, crew chiefs and other team personnel [Saturday at 3:00pm/et] to address this issue moving forward

Just when you though NASCAR officials couldn't get any worse at their decisions... BUT don't think for one minute NASCAR doesn't love all the pubplicity and discussions...

and...Could NAPA pull out from MWR? Rumors from Chicago are swirling in the windy city that NAPA has yet to inform MWR of their intentions. 5-Hour energy seems pretty safe considering they are in The Chase, Aaron's wasn't effected and looks forward with driver Brian Vickers for 2014, but NAPA took a huge hit and black eye with driver Martin Truex being penalized out of The Chase lineup. NAPA has backed MWR since the team formed but has had very few winning moments and now has a opportunity to bolt without penalties due to certain clauses in their contract. After the Jet Fuel scandal, Waltrip's DUI and other embarassing moments, some wonder is this the straw the breaks the camels back...?

Nope, status quo........

NASCAR had to do something. Maybe this was the right thing to do. Maybe not. We'll just have to see how it works out.

Yup, it will make for an interesting chase. I wonder what the other drivers/crew think? I haven't been keeping up on NASCAR as much lately.

I hope NAPA pulls out. Serves MWR right.

Logano should have been booted from the Chase like Truex. But NASCAR yet again does their thing. Inconsistent in their enforcement of penalties.

Glad I'm not missing much by not watching their product week in and week out.

With the Logano deal, teams pull over to let each other get a point for leading a lap, how is there a difference?

Nobody is asking the big question. " What if Gordon wins the chase?"

Following Brian France's logic, Danica should be added to the Chase too. It's all about the Benjamins.

assisting teammates and having "deals" with other teams is common place and has been happening as long as I can remember. What makes last weekend so special? It carried just as much weight as any of the 25 previous races this season.

Integrity in sport is about having consistency and fairness amongst ALL teams. Considering what site we're on, we know that it isn't always the case with nascar.

I really wouldn't care what the rules were, as long as they were consistently enforced.
