From Jayski - This end of 2011 racing season keeps getting more and more crazy.

Red Bull Racing's five-year run as a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team will come to an end [Thursday], when the last of approximately 150 employees will be laid off and the competition shop shut down, presumably for good. After 284 Sprint Cup starts, over 106,000 competitive laps and two victories, the team informed its remaining employees this week that Thursday will be the final day of operation. A memo was distributed by the team's Human Resources Manager outlining severance procedures and establishing a schedule for exit interviews. After a brief team meeting &. the team will raffle off sheet metal, mementos and photos that have hung at the Red Bull shop and distribute cases of Red Bull to departing employees. "We know it will be a difficult day for everyone," said the memo, "as a large number of employees will be exiting the facility."(Sirius Speedway)(12-8-2011)

RGM & Robby Gordon continue to Gas-On. Feel for those employees though.
Speed Energy is where it's at.

Wow Merry Chrisymas folks now you have all the time you need to get your shopping done,no last minute running around for you just put your feet up and reelax! I know company's have to cut their losses but the timing kind of sucks.

At least the people there have known for 2-3 months this was going to happen. Not good whenever a race team (or company in general) closes shop though.

Like the big motorbike store in town.Told on Tuesday, closed on Wednesday.(last week)

Or like the Lowes here in Milwaukee that closed last month. No notice at all. Took the sign down in the middle of the night. Employees came to work Monday morning to find the windows/doors covered in black plastic and security guards standing watch at the entrance.

same thing happened to the Lowes by me.

Wow, jeez good thing they got laid off in 2001 I'm sure they have jobs by now.....

looks like it was updated to 2011...lol..

That didn't last long! People can say what they will about RGM, but the fact that he's still around, and still doing things his way speaks volumes!

Sucks for the employees, but kinda cool to see Red Bull running off with their tail between their legs.

HEY! THEY ALL GOT A CASE OF redbull BEFORE THEY LEFT. wow

Heard they opened up the FEMA CAMP in town and are hireing ........w/gov. pensions & beneys.

Unemployment is not a laughing matter, it is at the root of our society and it's functioning basis. I for one am not a rich man, I look out the window and watch the birds feeding and think "They are far richer than I". While I can't take serious this occupy thing as there are some folks out there doing this that are ...well, questionable in character lets say to say the least. Even though I get the line "You well heeled big wheel Ha ha charade you are" I can't take it to heart. However yes the country is in some straights man and even though there are a great number of this Red Bull bunch that are talented and bear some heavy duty credentials that will have them very employable there are not a lot of options out there as we all know the racing pool is drying up a bit and only an economic ....I don't know what, will ever turn it around. Finding humor in the state of this country is pretty tough.
But what the hell let's see if we can breath a little life into this situation man. It's not like it's our fault the country is in the toilet. Vaseline sales are expected to take a sharp rise as it helps folks have an easier time while they stand around with their thumbs up................No I can't my heart is not in it. The only fun I can poke at the unemployment situation is to have a genuine dislike for those who are capable but don't do anything but milk it. And that my friends is done live and on location and nobody is safe. For all the good no Red Bull will do Speed Energy in the NAZICAR arena I'm growing tired of hearing the words closed , out of business, shutting down. I'm about to pop so i'll stop.
