I posted this on the entry list thread a few days ago. It is probably better for this thread as it is about RG and his Talladega's history.

Robby's stats at Talladega.
Robby has 20 starts and has led 56 laps at Talladega. Robby's average start is 28th and average finish is 20th. Robby has had 5 top 10's and has had 5 DNF's. 4 due to a crash and 1 due to an engine failure. His best start was the spring 2002 Talladega race where Robby qualified 2nd in the #31 RCR Cingular Chevy. Robby's best finish was the spring 2004 race where he finished 5th in the #31 RCR Cingular Chevy, where he also led 22 laps that day.

Since the start of RGM Robby's best start was at the 2006 Spring race where he started 19th in the Menards Turtle Wax Ice Chevy. Robby also finished 10th at that race, which has been one of his better finishes as an owner. Robbys' best finish as an owner was 8th at the Fall 2008 race running the Menards/Mapei Dodge.

Last years Fall Talladega was the first time we saw or heard about SPEED Energy drink and sponsorship. Robby qualified 42nd and finished 18th that day.

Extra facts:
July 25th 1993 was Robby's first Talladega race. He was driving the #28 Havoline Ford for Robert Yates Racing. This was the first time the #28 had been back on the track since Davey Allison's death a few week's prior.

Robby's second attempt at Talladega was in 2000 driving the #13 Ford he co-owned with John Menard. Robby started 34th and finished 37th. Robby was involved in the "Big One" that collected 17 cars.
After getting all the dents out of the car from Daytona, I hope RGM had the money to rebuild the drive line and suspension and to get it back into the wind tunnel as I would like to see it go to the front and stay there!
turtle - seriously....you gotta stop hitting the hard stuff so early in the afternoon.

Speedway cars got re-skinned.
Restrictor plate racing... need... "a little help from my friends..."
TOG do you know since this is the DAYTONA car, did it go back to the wind tunnel since then?
no need to. Its all about who you hook up with. All those beaten & battered race cars still having no problem getting to the front at Daytona. Aerodynamics pretty much out the window in 2 car hookups...lol....
Agree...Just hope they figured a way to make those bumpers ready for the bangin...RG didn't have much left of his after Daytona

Please tell me there will be a diecast of this car "Fast Five/Speed Energy"
You can only build the bumper braces based on what the rules allow you to. No team can build a bumper brace to withstand a hit like the one Jeff Gordon gave RG.

Diecast is up to the Fast & Furious franchise.
I had a pretty good view of the hit at Daytona. Jeff hit him pretty darn hard. Like TOG said, no bumper would hold up to that. You have to remember they are almost 200 mph.
Now thats a speedway bumper. LOL
Funny
Is the nose template something new for this year?
