Saudi Arabia is +8 hours on Eastern Time / +11 on the West Coast.

January 5th, the Rally Raid starts in Alula, Saudi Arabia and races South East before racing to the North to the city of Yanbu.

Polish crews 302 and 310 faced technical checks during the rest day for their Challenger vehicles. Violation of FIA regulations with a prohibited carbon clutch led to disqualification for Eryk Goczal-Oriol Mena and Michal Goczal-Szymon Gospodarczyk in the 2024 Dakar. Eryk Goczal's lead is now taken over by Mitch Guthrie, followed by Cristina Gutierrez and 'Chaleco' Lopez. #Dakar2024
