COURSE OVERVIEW

None of the drivers in the Dakar consider it over until they reach the end of this final day; and for good reason, because every year at least one competitor retires during this final stage. Caution is the name of the game on the fast tracks of the special stage, at the very least for those who haven’t got a position to defend. Because reaching the podium of the 2015 edition at the Technopolis in Buenos Aires is the ultimate goal which they have come to achieve.

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

Is It Soup Yet?

It's raining cats and dogs right now, making the course extremely slippery and dangerous, so the organisers have decided to stop the motorcycle race at CP2, 101 km into today's special. Most riders have reached this point, with the top riders in the general classification further back.

While Ivan Jakes is on course to win the last stage of the 2015 Dakar

Rafal Sonik, seventh at CP2, won his first Dakar today after finishing twice on the podium in previous years. The Pole was in a league of his own during the rally. As for the stage win, South African rookie Saaijman Willem took his first triumph at the end of today's shortened stage.

After trailing Joan Barreda throughout the first part of the rally, Marc Coma has won his fifth Dakar at the end of today's shortened special. The Spaniard will be escorted by Paulo Gonçalves and Toby Price on the podium in Buenos Aires. Today's stage winner was Ivan Jakes, 46 seconds ahead of countryman Stefan Svitko.

Jakes got by Sanz for 8th overall.

She did good with 9th overall though.

Laia race might be the as big a story as Coma's fifth win

She still had 8th at wp2 but something cost her 7 min between wp2 and wp3.

Have the cars started?

I do not see them off yet.

not that I see

Orlando Terranova's the first competitor to enter the final car special. The stage has also been shortened due to the rain and will end at CP1, a mere 34 km after the start.
