It's getting close to the start of greatest race in the world, the 2015 Dakar Rally! In the days leading up to the start of stage 1, there will be many events taking place. Robby Gordon and a few #TeamSPEED members have already arrived in Argentina, and the remaining crew will arrive around Dec.30th.

The guys will pick up the support trucks and the Gordini, then they will setup the #TeamSPEED compound and work on the vehicle leading up to Scrutineering (Tech inspection). Scrutineering takes place from January 1st to 3rd in Buenos Aires. On Jan 3rd, the teams will parade to the 'opening ceremonies ramp' and all the drivers will be introduced. There will be links to the "LIVE TV FEED" available on Jan. 3rd.

Stage 1 begins on Jan. 4th, 2015. As always, we will have live raceday chat, stage threads, in-action updates, photos, videos, etc. The "official" #TeamSPEED daily stage videos will be hosted here as well. The guys on the crew will also be sending us updates from the frontline.

Turn2 would never do such a thing. Most Turn2 members support RG. :)

haha!

well the TOYOs are pretty stout so something had to puncture it. Just guessing but I bet Toyo (the sponsor of the show) probably didn't want to show a blowout.

Tires on the support trucks are "Goodyear". Toyo doesn't make one for that truck

oh that explains the blowout. LOL

Goodyear brought a great tire today.

Just so everybody understands. I met Randy a few years back. He is no small guy, that tire is big. Glad the team has a guy like Randy .....

Another myth about a steering axle blow out on a big truck will always cause a crash, goes down the drain.

I'd say the link below is an obvious reaction to the success RG has had with his 2 wheel drive effort. Being a big fan of Sebastien Loeb and Citreon, I won't deny that I don't want to see the Peugeot 2008 do well but I would like to see them finish behind RG. Being impressed by RG's "Road to Dakar" series, it's obvious to me he has a real focus on this years Dakar and hope he does well. Afterall, I did buy the sticker. Go RG!

Yep,1 of them will be on its side by day 3

man those things looks short.

Watched this and went back and watched Dakar 1 and 2 the Peugeots seem to really wallow in the turns. IHO they seem kinda top heavy and I really think "SF7" really nailed it they are or were at that time lifting the inside front tire ala the SST's it's one thing on asphalt but a whole different thing in the dirt with what appear? to be top heavy rigs. They seem to sit above the tires and not on the tires like the Gordini, a lesson learned by American desert racers years ago was to let the suspension act like landing gear and drop down into holes and off of jumps and then soaking up the hit where the Peugeot doesn't seem to do this. I'm sure they'll be fast and reliable but I believe they have a way's to go understanding this type of platform JMO
