Ford Raptor tail lights are perfectly OK ... just ask Mom ... she's the real trooper ...

they're much better than those round $14.99 ... made in Taiwan (Radiant Systems Inc) ... 14-led trailer lamps ... jeje

Gotta admit as much as I did like the Raptor ones these new ones just look more finished

From the side view of the newer HST ... there's scarce a daylight running light to be seen ... and our Robby is such a stickler ... for driver's safety ...

I like the round tail lights. They are a clean install. The Ford lights were way too large and made the car look bigger than it is. Plus, they looked like Ford tail lights!

So what is the deal with not testing the final setup of the HST? Seems like they would want to do more testing with the final build. You never know what small changes to the body, interior etc. are going to do until you get them in the heat and dust. One example is small changes to the nose of the car can affect airflow and change the results of that backyard air tunnel and mean the scoop needs to be moved. That is just one small example.

Maybe someone would like to donate real wind tunnel time. Robby is amazing at what he does. This truck has been tested and they are happy with it. Can it be better? Possibly, but for him to even be able to do what he has over the years shows what American Imagineering can do on its own. Just like Mickey, Robby is one of the greatest in ideas and building dreams. He is planning on winning overall. Corporate Monies might help, but then the Robby Imagineering could be compromised.

Good enough for Zora Good enough for me...

The anticipation of the truck firing for the first time was lost, so wanted to see that, that exhilaration felt by all that worked so hard on it.... and the trip to the grocery store. haha!
Someone mentioned Hummer 2 in the piece. Oops.
What's the history on the Aussies' help? Will they be going to Dakar with Robby?
I actually loved the poor man's wind tunnel, why not, if it got them the answers they needed.
I dubbed last year's entry as his Dakar Nomad, the wagon look, little bit "hemi'.... either way, they'll never live up that "mean" of the Hummers. I'm not taking a dig on his ideas, it's out of necessity that it's evolved into what it is today.
The change to the tunnel looks like it won't be an issue this year, that's good to see.

The Aussies were part of the Australian team in the 2014 and had the opportunity to visit the states this year. They will be part of the TeamSPEED crew in Dakar.

So, a logical guess would be an Australian driver in Gordini #2, with Kellon as co-driver.

But, with only 8 days before the start of the race, it seems too late to announce a second car and driver. If it does happen, then the ASO has to be in on the drama. (Looks like it would be car #402, by the way.)

Always interesting Robby, you know how to make it entertaining.

I recall hearing something about road legal this or that some years ago. If so would that mean tail lights? If so how custom could you go?? I have a friend who is in the casting side of creating things. You can make casts of anything scratch or reproduction.....even scaling an item down with "shrink it".......speed logo tail lights would be an attractive ass end. And yes you can cast in clear , red clear, orange, green etc etc all in transparent material and with the interior knurling for proper refraction........which if you look at these shitty tail lights these days is absent I believe........Great video. It needs to be seen by the American public lest they be blind once more. The Buffalo News is playing the part of the village idiot once more. A person I will not name acts as though GOD has appointed them gate gaurd for "we is ANAL headquarters". I had to change my name to avoid .........well lets just say there more people afraid of losing their job by doing their job than there are folks doing their job to improve their job.........thus the proper press coverage lacks. Monday Morning I have a phone interview........ I'll try my best to act like they are the boss and I will take orders. Making someone think it was their idea is GOLD sometimes. Need to spread the word quick.

"Making someone think it was their idea is GOLD sometimes." You got that right.
