Visiting Charlotte’s NASCAR Bank of America 500

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Oct. 8, 2014) – Robby Gordon Motorsports race shop and headquarters will be open to the public Thursday and Friday of NASCAR’s Bank of America 500 week in Charlotte. Gordon, a former NASCAR driver and team owner as well as an IndyCar star, now operates and manages multiple championship off-road programs including his Dakar Rally effort and most notably his incredibly popular Stadium Super Truck series.
The Stadium Super Trucks that stole the show at X Games Austin in 2014 are on display in the shop. Fans will have the opportunity to look at the trucks, take pictures with the TRAXXAS-branded vehicles and may have the opportunity to visit with Gordon who works morning to night each day.
The race shop is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 10615 Twin Lakes Parkway, Charlotte, North Carolina 28269.

I'm trying to get my daughter to go. She's a chef and has catered Hendrick Motor Sports (She the other Gordon, JR, Jimmy and Kasey). She was in the center of race cars and super stars but she called me all excited over his FIRETRUCK!!! Is he going to have his support rigs on display? Please, I'm begging you, get some picks of the Dakar stuff (support stuff, Gordini etc)!! P.S. I'm surprised the floor isn't epoxy coated?

I've been to the shop twice. I highly, highly, recommend it.

I hate I missed out on this!! I was going to Lowes on Friday and was debating on either Northlake or Belmont and I chose Belmont. If I would have known about this, I would have swung by and see what's new and maybe win that piece of the car they were giving away.

Was there a big turnout?

I don't know what the rutine would be if a person is going to a race at that speedway with museum and all the shops and what not but it seems to me an organized tour of some sort would be okay....I guess you know "On your right we will be entering such and such for 30 minutes then blah blah blah..............but if my sails ever catch a southerly I'm going to that shop. With the falling off of attendence and all perhaps the sport that calls that area home could livin things up a bit like ...I don't know smashing cars into one another and fightin and shit...........I mean maybe it's just me you know ..."I'm just a poor city girl ........I ain't never seen a pig up close". I could see it now some guy from Buffalo is cookin 288 chicken wings in the parking lot .....WTF..
