I recall being at Pocono and Lake Speed lost spots on pit stops...raced them back...pit road would kill him. Nobody says "Lake Speed" he was my guy.....Shit I have a few model kits with his name on them. I thought he was a great driver...Jonny Benson as well (one of the if not the coolest burnouts after his fir cup win). However even to a blind eagle it is shown Danicrash Patrick is in top quality equipment and doing squat with it. I'm not bashing, the real life difference between cars is very little in terms of timing. I mean when a car is built in a totaly different shop and is 1 second off on a 1 and a half mile track that's pretty tight. However I would think that "car" should be 15 spots on average higher from where it runs. Why am I saying all this? There are two songs left on the record the clothes are almost dry my shift starts at 3 it's too cold to have a cigar and well..I just like to type. At the end of the day if I were in Richard Pettys' shoes and I was asked a question I would say what I think...hell or high water, also however I would be so far removed from the idiotic types shit like this would never happen. I mean ...if you had a chance to ask Richard Petty ...Richard Petty a question would it be that ?????? No...It would be more like the question he was asked in a copy of Motor Trend 1969 I think....(I have a nice pile of 60s mags kicking around and Motor Trend was the stuff!) MT: Do you often think about and fear crashing while your racing? RP: Heck yea, but if I thought about getting food poisoning every time I ate I'd starve to death.......you see what I mean. When Danicrash Patrick wins her first cup race I'll bet any person on here ....a real 6 pack bet that it will be a rain shortened "great call by my blah blah blah to stay out sideshow smiles and champagne for the horses no umbrella needed (real boys don't need them) celebration. Handshakes, milkshakes, earthquakes and all it takes to anounce to the world....."The Cherry has popped". History has been made Dani........there's that dang line again ...I can't even tell what side i'm on..did I cross it..? I think not. I hope she does win but in bangem around Martinsville style ...but it will be a "here's our chance start dancin save me a lap it's gonna rain" Win......betcha.

This is why I don't get all giddy about Danica Patrick:
Janet Guthrie had 5 top 10's in 33 starts in Cup compared to Danica's 1 top 10 in 46 Cup starts.
Mara Reyes, 20 top 10's, 5 top 5's in 28 starts in the NASCAR Toyota Series (Mexico).
Lella Lombardi, the best female F1 driver you probably never heard of and only one to score a point finishing 6th in the '75 Spanish Grand Prix.
Lyn St. James, 2-time winner of the 24 Hours of Daytona ('89 & '90) and Sebring 12 Hour winner in '90. 62 starts in the IMSA GT series with 6 wins, 17 top 5's, 37 top 10's.
Sarah Fisher, first woman driver to win a Pole in Indy Cars at Kentucky. Also holds the 1 lap and 4 lap qualifying record at Indy for a female driver at 229+ mph. Sarah was also the first American woman driver invited to a F1 test.
Michele Mouton, 4 rally wins and runner up in the '82 WRC driver's championship. Won the Pikes Peak Hillclimb in '86.

+1

Well said WJM!

There are / were TONS of woman drivers that were / are great . The difference is Danica is a media rat . My favorite woman drivers are of course Corry Weller , Jessica McMillin and Heidi Steele cause they're off road girls . I'd love to see them get even 1/2 the attention that Princess Danica gets .

when was the last time the main stream motorsports media said anything about Rob Mac?

Dude:

I remember Lella. She was a damn sight to watch.
And Lynn was damn awesome in her own right.
Sarah: Yes, again...
Michelle: What can you say? She could flat drive.

You are, The Most Interesting Man in Grover.

Danica should have stayed in the Nationwide series. She was actually starting to finish on the lead lap in those races 1/2 way through 2012. She was also better in Indy cars, even tho Hinchcliffe actually won races in that car after she bailed. She don't belong in a cup car.

Danica raced in the Toyota Atlantic series in 2003 & 2004 before moving up to Indy Cars in 2005. Two years in Atlantics in top shelf equipment with Bobby Rahal mentoring her. Zero wins. Katherine Legge competed in Toyota Atlantic for one season (2005). 3 wins. Simona DeSilvestro two seasons in Atlantics (2008, 2009), 7 wins. Before Atlantics, Danica raced Formula Fords in U.S. and the U.K. for a couple of years. Again, winless.

Update: Simona just signed on with Sauber F1 with intent of going to F1 full time in 2015. She'll become the first woman to compete in F1 in 23 years.

If Danica sucks so bad,how do these guys rate?
