Just a bit of useless trivia, Rover was the first to advertise it's vehicles w/mud on them.
During their long dry spell as a name/fashionable brand they came out with the Range Rover & took out a full page magazine ad with a white RR splattered with mud & a simple tag line... 'go get dirty' or something similar. Of course all the other mfgrs of urban 4x4s thought they were nuts. Seems sales have picked up since that ad.
If I were forced to buy one, I'll take a Combat.

Jeep with a Wildcat supercharged hemi.

superchargers are illegal

but turbochargers on the diesels are not? Hellcat will be a SRT factory motor.

ASO allows turbos, but not superchargers?

I thought the minis were turbodiesels. Hellcat motor will be a supercharged 392 hemi. If not there is the straight 392. errr 6.4l

Why change what engine RG uses, the LS performed flawless once they got the issues corrected. I think the problem is that the ASO needs to allow for a larger restrictor with an FIA compliant engine!

Please read the rule book during the non-DAKAR season, that includes the FIA Rally Raid rule book.It would eliminate most of the pie in sky thoughs if you simply read the rule books.

Sorry Mike, My plate has been full the last little while, my mother has cancer. It has been a frustrating delight to have a chance to follow Robby again. I will brush up on the rule book during the off season.

sorry to hear that, chronic illness's are hard on everyone involved.I was at a service yesterday afternoon for a gentleman who finally succumbed.

Bad Idea, Team USA needs to be linked to a USA brand, not some stiff british overrated coach

What US brand would that be? None of the big 3 have anything that fits Robby's image and other than Jeep, they'd want him to drive a truck. Hummer is either Chinese or out of business. Maybe Caterpillar would work. I'll just say it would be fun to see what Robby could do with a bigger budget. Maybe that's not the rebel way, but...
