Thanks for the info!
No wonder they didn't have time for press releases. The way they tried until the very last moment is unbelievable (never give up!). They once again demonstrated what true passion is!

Valid effort by Team Speed, love the never give up attitude, that is why we all support Team Speed, Gas on Robby!!!

So It sounds like he sanded the motor with a compromised air plenum and it began to melt down right after the start...Great Effort to make it to the Start!

this engine sounded guttless from the very first video i watched compared to last year's engine , what did they change from last year? or is it because all the overheatig issues in the first few stages?

OSCAR............unless you are part of the crew to make your statement about the motor shows just how much you know.....0

for on thing he has to run a smaller restrictor because of the lighter weight he is carrying with the HST. His hp is allot less, I think the Hummer was a little over 400 and the HST is 320 or so. I not sure exactly but the difference is quite allot.

You need to check the history of this car. It's an FIA approved, car. Being one, it's allowed larger restrictors than the Score car that was the H3.

@Scooter, not true.Because of the 'production engine and FIA legal chassis,Robby got to use the bigger 39mm restrictor.
The old HUMMER used a modified LS, therefor it was only allowed a 37.2mm restrictor.Just under 10% less air.
I've never heard 400hp for the old LS restricted.I have heard Robby say he got out HP'd last year by Nasser and Chichert with LS7's and bigger restrictor's

Sorry to see RG on the withdrawal list...bugger.

Just had a chance to catch up. Thoughts on some posts. Peterhansel was a rider first, a very accomplished one at that. So, the top two are multi-talented, not just Nani, and both do an admirable job on 4 wheels too. I am glad that the team orders, were retracted or not followed. That is bad PR to ask the winningest competitor to back off....it is insane. The team sponsor must have freaked out when that was bandied about the world. Tomorrow should be real interesting, but I expect Peterhansel to stay in the lead from here on out, barring equipment issues. Having met him twice, he is not that bad of a chap. I know he and Robby are never going to see things the same way, but that is what makes racing even greater than the spectacle itself. Both very competitive, with different personalities. Al-Attiayah, I just don't like him...and it is not that he is not a capable rallier, he is all that, just don't like him. Without the hour, he is winning this thing, and it is still possible for him to do so, while not likely. There was a frenchman of old I felt the same about as well. I do miss Mr. Buggy though, he was always interesting, just like Robby.

Well, it was a valiant effort against tough odds. Well done, RG. You made it a lot farther than many would have facing the same challenges. Can't wait until next year when they have had more time to sort this rig out. And I hope you have a teammate....it is critical in winning this thing, I believe, to have some on course options. When competing against these well funded groups.

I think he is still the "great hope" of winning one....now that Miller has retired.

The team sponsor freaked...?
You bet, I'm not going to buy a BMW, Mini, or a Monster Energy anytime too soon, possibly never.
Well said throughout.

sure gtx, that makes perfect sense considering RG is out of the rally after 10 stages with ENGINE problems in every single one

I have no idea where you have come up with this answer, but not one of the issues were actually ENGINE Related. The engine was fine, Broken studs, break line, vapor lock, air intake related, broken radiator. Many problems for them, but they never gave up until they JUST ran out of time.
