Join in and discuss all the action from Stage 10 of the 2014 Dakar Rally. After a broken radiator ruined a top 5 finish in stage 9, Gordon looks to rebound and will be the 17th car off the line. Robby Gordon will begin stage 9 at 7:53am/et.

COURSE OVERVIEW

The special stage, split into two sections with very different features, will begin with the descent towards the shores of the Pacific. The advance gained in the stage the day before may will be increased in the sand during the first two hundred kilometres. Even more skill will be required to tackle the sections of fesh-fesh in the second part of the stage. Once this difficult area is behind the drivers, they will all be delighted to twist and wind along the region’s mine tracks, and in particular to be welcomed by the majestic arch of La Portuda, a stone’s throw from the bivouac in Antofagasta.


The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

To all members...those from Cup those from offroad those from indy car to those from sports cars...all the way to those whom only seen one episone of "Home Improvement". It is of bad form to say things like "Without that flat tire we'd be _____. or Without that G-force scale crushing crash in turn 5 we would be sitting ________. It does not exist. It's a feel good thing to say we were top 5 until we broke or we were running equal times with _______. I know that we have Robby say things in that fashion but you know truth be told for myself I see a guttsy effort by a group of devoted people that just don't get squat outa' what did not happen. No matter the outcome of this or any other adventure the proof is in the pudding that they are there competing and I'm a fan of the effort first and all the rest is just ....well afterbirth.

sorry MM but you are stuck in a Newtonian physics world. Quantum physics has taught us that the tire blew and it didn't blow, we crashed and we didn't crash, we lost and we won - all at at the same time.

Yes, you are absolutely right. It's just frustrating how that penalty keeps reappearing. But hey, the way thing's are going it might disappear again :)
