Just curious, or maybe I have missed it, but is there an engine manufacturer associated with the trucks? I have seen in earlier pics that Dodge was still on the hauler. What a great opportunity awaits for someone to be announced.

Guess this means its all on the driver, not like NASCRAP or F1? Am I wrong?

Driver,tires and shocks,yep

Everything racing SHOULD be

Problem is you can't call it an "IROC" like series if you don't run the same tires, shocks, ect...... You have too big of open rule book if you bring in multiple tire manufactures with out specifying a "definite" size and or compound. From racing myself each tire manufacturer is diffrent, Hoosers vs American racers both would grow "expand" at diffrent rates and pressures along with wear from surface to surface is too much of a diffrence let alone compount of tire!! Shocks where do u want to start and how much money do u want to spend as Robby has always said "SPEED costs money how fast do u want to go?" Shocks come in so many combinations that its a science have always paid a guy for I am not smart enough... but I am excited to see how it all works out for the series!

Here's everything the SST rule book says you can tune / adjust
Vehicle Modifications – Competitors shall be allowed to modify the following to achieve maximum performance from Race Vehicle:
Change spring rates;
Adjust ride height;
Tune shock absorbers. Team may buy a set of shock absorbers, install them, and keep as own
private confidential information, subject to the limits to be determined by the Series;
Adjust air pressure base, subject to limits which will be determined by Series;
Change camber and front toe;
Adjust rear bite on truck arms;
Adjust anti-roll bars. Team/Driver is allowed to buy a set of anti-roll bars, install them, and keep
as their own private confidential information.
Can adjust front toe.

Plus dont remember the rules exactly but thought there was some sort of rule on the number of crew members you can have . Think it's 2-3 .

@Mike, IMO the ability to tune 'your' shocks and run 'your contract'd tires' is a huge bonus to the series.It's inclusive.
Just like allowing any sponsor,even if it's a competitor of say, Speed Energy. IROC'ish,in the that SST's have a common chassis and engine package.

Pavement wise,Hoosiers and American Racers are both soft sidewall tires that use the same shock,spring packages and need the same clearances so they didn't rub on shit.GoodYears different deal.I forgot.A/R's will probably go flat before driver intro is done,no need for bleeders.

And COTish in that they all are going to run the same body. I wanted to see Ford guys get a Ford front group and so on. Isn't that the way this program started off?

Unless Ford,Chevy,Toyota........is throwing some $$$$$$$$ Robby's way, why should he do any advertising for them?

@Bruce, I've never seen/heard/read that there be different manufacture bodys available.
The SST partners decided on the final body style,that is not a named truck manufacture,thus inclusive with out the expense of many different body's (that the manufactures didn't pay for)

Page 12 of the SST rules makes mention of have a manufacturer's championship for truck mfg. My guess is that's where some people are getting the idea that there's options as far as manufacturer goes.

i never understood how having different manufacturers would work if the trucks are being drawn at the drivers meeting on the day of the race. Having a final body/mfg seems to make the most sense.

I guess I "assumed" more than what was really said, but it isn't worth my time to go back and see what I thought I remembered. Might have been a post by another member or something too.

So they are Traxxas trucks. OK, at least that is neutral. I guess I don't relate as well to RC stuff as you younger folks.

@ Bruce & Mike I'm almost positive there was talk of manufacture choice previously. I don't remember it being bodies, but engines. It was said right in line with shocks, tires,& # of crew. Maybe since then RG's decided a fleet of LS motors is easier/cheaper to maintain. However, a late model style crate motor deal would obvioulsy add another dimension to competition that most of us would eat up. Fleet of bowties, ain't a bad thing tho...don't get me wrong.
