Crandon, WI (August 30, 2012) –Fans of American short course off-road racing are going to get an inside look at Robby Gordon’s Stadium SUPER Truck Series this weekend at Crandon International Off-Road Raceway. For the first time, SST will be debuting and participating in an exciting exhibition race bound to leave fans on the edge of their seats.

Along with Gordon, the impressive invitees include Ricky Johnson, Bryce Menzies, Rob MacCachren, Justin Matney, Scott Taylor, Adrian Cenni, Johnny Greaves, Andrew Caddell, Mike Jenkins, Mark Jenkins among others. Fans will have to attend the race to see who is up for the challenge!

The SST trucks will be practicing on Friday afternoon to determine whether they can match the high-speed Pro2 laps times at the fastest 1.75 mile track in the country. After this practice run, the Series will determine what course will be most beneficial for the exhibition races on Saturday and Sunday – the big track or a modified version of the track. On Saturday, September 1, 2012, the SST Class race will be held at 3:45 PM, and again on Sunday September 2, 2012 at 3:45 PM.

“Crandon is the biggest short course off-road track in the world, and we are excited to debut the SST trucks. Bringing the SSTs up here and unleash them in an exhibition race is the perfect introduction. There won’t be any points or money, like the 2013 season, but we thought it would be the perfect venue to familiarize the public with the SST vehicles. Fans are going to get to see world-class off-road race car drivers behind the wheel of new SST, allowing drivers and fans learn more about these trucks and what they are capable of. These trucks were built for stadiums around the world, not Crandon, but we thought the fans at Crandon would like sneak peak of what the season is going to be like.”

Gordon will be making autograph appearances throughout the weekend at the SST/SPEED Energy souvenir trailer on Saturday at 6pm and Sunday morning at 10am. On Thursday and Friday, fans will enjoy a great opportunity to meet and greet with Gordon, autographs, sample Speed and take photographs at the following two Menards locations: Antigo Menards located at 2001 Jerome Street at 6:30 PM on Thursday, August 30 and Rhinelander Menards located at 2221 North Stevens Street on Friday August 31 at 6:30 pm.

The inaugural SST season will consist of a 10-or-more-venue stadium truck racing series that will bring entertainment and the excitement of off-road racing to the masses. Series will offer Quad, UTV, BIGFOOT® and Stadium SUPER Truck racing to fans of all ages to stadiums across the country and beyond. Gordon will bring off-road racing back to the glamorous glory days it once enjoyed.

and we'll have 'chat' Saturday and Sunday for Crandon.Sunday's 'chat' will extend into the evening for the Nascar race.

as well as for the NW race Saturday night

Sorry to ask but, what is the difference between the Pro2 trucks and the SST? I am from the northwest and am not super familiar with all the different offraod types and trucks. You can give me the "In a nut shell" answer. Thanks

@El, SST's look shorter and narrow'r (made for indoors) to me. Pro2's (made for outdoors) have a carburator (?hp).SST's have fuel injection (600hp) I live in the Northwest also.and no we don't have any thing like either one here.
El , you have one of the nicest pavement short tracks (northwest at least-country maybe) at Kalispell. You, might check out their program.

They are both putting out roughly 600hp. The Pro-2s and Pro-4s are just bigger trucks, with more travel and thus can take/absorb bigger jumps a little easier. The wider wheelbase in the Pro2s/4s will lessen the chance of a rollover. the difference between the 2s and the 4s is the number of wheels supplied power, thus the 4s get off the turns much better than the 2s.

Pro2 and Pro4 are upwards of 750-800hp. Some have used nascar engines.

Just a question - The Planet has Robby as finishing 2nd but the announcer in the video has Robby coming in 5th. Why the difference?

thats the saturday results banner.

4th in Sundays Pro2 race and 3rd in the Amsoil CUP.

SST are closer to a pro lite truck in size SST run more wheel travel and a bigger tire Pro Lite run 31" tire and about 400 hp but are about 4 inches wider SST run a 35" tire and about 600 hp with about 20 inches of wheel travel Pro Lite run 14 inches of travel Thier was a big ?? if SST would run on sunday as to all of the had some form of breakage from Sat nite . big track big speed = more breakage
