As I was driving by the "OFF ROAD" shop today I slowed down to see if I could see anything interesting. This was interesting. Robby came out to load the local catering truck with SPEED. I got out out of my rig to just say hello and talk about the Baja results. He walked me over to his personal Hummer and handed me 3 cans of SPEED. This was so cool. Made my day.

Robby Gordon is only one man! Why would you would you anyone be star struck when meeting Robby or any other celebrity?
Now, if you were to come face to face with Jesus, then maybe you might get a drop of pee down your leg? But Robby Gordon, Clint Boyer, Martin Truax, Jimmy Johnson? Not so much.
Okay, I have met Robby Gordon and his entire family. Nice folks. Down to earth, warm, and engaging. However, if you ever have the opportunity to meet a movie personality, they too are warm and engaging. The first thing you'll notice is the eye contact that a movie star gives you. That's what makes them special. They engage you, and at the same time, they control the environment. That's what paralyzes us non-celebs.
debbie downer........

Probally cuz i thought he was good looking! lol that's probally why i ws Star Struck!

You are right on. I think most racers regardless of the series are just like the rest of us. Most have struggled to find finances to race and face the same problems we all face and maybe more. All in all I think if you show a driver respect and use common sense, during down time they are approachable. Oh, as for Jesus... You will for sure drop to a knee. The good book says so!
the shop in Anaheim???
Ive been driving by there for 10+ years... its funny to see all the the shop workers personal trucks change from Ford, to Chevy, to Ford, to Dodge, to Toyota, to Chevy, to Toyota, to Dodge... hahaha
Back in 1999 (I think) I met him at Long Beach at the outside garage right before the race. I was sitting on one of the flat bed carts talking to a few business guys who were there brcause they were in discussions about sponsoring him... Robby came over and thought I was with them so he gave me a lot of attention haha.

While driving for Richard, Rob and his PR guy were touring the infield at Pocono in a golf cart. I reconized Rob, said hi, and they stopped and spent nearly 2 hours at our site. One of our young ladies ran out of limes for her refrshments and Robby knocked on the door of a few other motorhomes until he returned with one. Next day during parade lap, Robby pulled out of line, stopped in front of our site and put arm outof window and waved. Awesome. Next year he returned to our campsite again for both races. That is why I'm on this site and why I'll support Robby in all his ventures.

This was just before Richmond last year. I told him to get his hand off my wife's ass, he has a great laugh! My wife said she never saw anybody sign so may autographs before! At the cinema that he had a private showing for Fast 5, he signed cars and even stopped the motorcade to the race to sign a bike for a guy! Just a nice guy, not the kind of guy to be star struck by because he's just a regular guy...talks to you like an old friend!

I finally get to see the man behind the cell phone lol . To bad we missed each other at Charlotte .

We were this close!
